MARCH 21, 2023

Nigeria carried out the second round of its electoral process with gubernatorial and state assembly elections on March 18.  The United States is deeply troubled by the disturbing acts of violent voter intimidation and suppression that took place during those polls in Lagos, Kano, and other states.

Members of the U.S. diplomatic mission observed the elections in Lagos and elsewhere and witnessed some of these incidents first-hand.The use of ethnically charged rhetoric before, during, and after the gubernatorial election in Lagos was particularly concerning.

We commend all Nigerian political actors, religious and community leaders, youth, and citizens who have chosen to reject and speak out against such violence and inflammatory language, affirming Nigerians’ commitment to and respect for the democratic process.

We call on Nigerian authorities to hold accountable and bring to justice any individuals found to have ordered or carried out efforts to intimidate voters and suppress voting during the election process.  The United States likewise will consider all available actions, including additional visa restrictions, on individuals believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining the democratic process in Nigeria.

Following the February 25 national elections, the United States joined other international observers in urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to improve voting processes and technical elements that experienced flaws in that voting round.

The March 18 elections appear to have had significant operational improvements, as polling stations generally opened on time and most results were visible on an electronic viewing platform in a timely manner.

The United States renews its call for any challenges to election results to go through established legal processes, which must not be interfered with.  We further call for Nigeria’s people to work together as they participate in and continue to strengthen the country’s vibrant democracy.

This is the election APC said it won free, fair and credible that Femi Fani-Kayode, Bayo Onanuga and Festus Keyamo are stupidly asking President Joe Biden to forcefully congratulate drug baron criminal principal? I laugh!

The US Justice Department must send their officials to come and testify at the PEPT ..

They must tell the world what they know about the illegal Drug related case of Thiefñúbû..

Why and what led to the forfeiture of the 460k dollars in Thiefñúbû's account in 1993.. ?

What was his connection and participation in Drug smuggling and selling with the Chicago Drug Barons that he claimed he was sharing a block of flat with... ?

Nigerians want to know

The international community want to know

It is time for the American DOJ to reveal and unveil the dirty smelling Skeletons in Thiefñúbû's cupboard

A Thief cannot be allowed to contest and Rule Nigeria...

Even if sworn in, it won't be business as usual using the stolen mandate. He should know that over 192m Nigerians out of the estimated 200m are against him

What the far away US could see, Buhari said he did not see any significant violence during the election. My joy is that the matter is now beyond Nigeria. The world is interested. People with a good conscience are now interested in the case.

And that includes Peter Obi. The embassy has records of how LP suppressed and prevented APC voters in Anambra, including the old man seen on video being pushed out of the polling unit. Peter Obi must not be given visa to visit anywhere outside Africa.

Elections have never been credible in this country.
All our elections in this country have always fallen far far below the minimum acceptable standard for human beings.

The BVAS and IREV didn't improve anything, they only served as the VAR in this elections.

They just revealed to everyone how disgusting and worthless our elections have been over the years.
