Rhodes-Vivour, named among 20 Nigerians leading Change 2023

The Labour Party (LP) Governorship Candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; music sensation, Folarin Falana (Falz the Badh Guy) lead the pack of young Nigerians profiled in a biographical compendium, Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Change 2023 edition.

Others are the Managing Director of Messrs Caniz Ltd, Dr. Austin Izagbo, who returned N75m overpaid to his company; Prof. Saheed Aderinto, a Professor of History and African Diaspora Studies at Florida International University, who recently won the $300,000 Dan David Prize – the largest history prize in the world; and Yvonne Johnson, the Co-founder/CEO of Indicina – a FinTech infrastructure start-up focused on Africa.

Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Change profiles exceptional Nigerians who think out of the box to provide solutions to Nigeria’s plethora of problems.

According to its Co-editors, Kammonke Abam and Tammie Edet kammonke, these change-makers are young Nigerians that are set to change the world, and some who are already knee-deep doing exactly that in different fields of endeavour.

“They are listed in the compendium in acknowledgement of their distinctive endowment and their contributions towards the emergence of a new Nigeria,” they said.

The statement said all those listed in the compendium are creative, risk-taking and adventurous men and women who are not satisfied with the status quo in Nigeria and have been taking actions to make things better.

The listees, according to the statement, include trail-blazing scientists, iconic entertainers and artists, groundbreaking engineers, media practitioners, thought leaders, pathfinders, innovators and creative entrepreneurs

The statement noted that, “through the creative actions of these men and women, they are contributing to the emergence of a new Nigeria where there is justice, security, peace and equal opportunities.”

It added: “They have used their skills, endowment, and connections, to make a difference. Some have brought pride and global recognition to Nigeria on account of their individual efforts.”

The Co-editors explained that the stories of the listees as captured in the compendium provide a peep to their lives and an inspirational fillip for others to make a difference from their small corners.

They stated that, “this edition is particularly momentous as 2023 is a year enmeshed in political milestones and one that young people took over the politics of Nigeria and shaped the direction of elections in the country.”

In its second year, the compendium last year profiled prominent Changemakers such as labour activist, John Odah; the Director of MacArthur Foundation, Nigerian Office, Kole Shettima; Arise TV presenter, Dr. Reuben Abati; and Channels TV presenter, Seun Okinbaloye, among others.

For years, Profiles & Biographies has led the way in profiling some of the most outstanding Nigerians from around the globe who are making impact and contributing to the development of society.

The compendium would be out in May this year.
