Chat GPT is an Artificial Intelligence chatbot ...

I tried relating with it with current Nigerian politics for a while and here are the results:

My Prompt 1
Taking in to cognizance sections 132, 134 and 299 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who can you say won in an election with three candidates with the results as follows: Candidate A had 25% in 15 states and FCT with 6,101,533 votes, Candidate B had 25% in 21 states excluding FCT with 6,984,520 votes and Candidate C had 25% in 30 states excluding FCT with a total of 8,794,726 votes?

Chat GPT's response:
Based on the information provided, none of the candidates can be said to have won the election. This is because the Nigerian Constitution requires that for a candidate to be declared winner in a presidential election, he or she must meet the following conditions:

The candidate must have the highest number of votes cast at the election.
The candidate must have not less than one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states in the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In this case, none of the candidates has met the second requirement, which is to have at least one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states in the federation and the FCT.

Candidate A has 25% of the votes in only 15 states and the FCT, which is less than the required two-thirds of the states.

Candidate B has 25% of the votes in 21 states, which is more than two-thirds of the states, but this candidate did not meet the requirement of having one-quarter of the votes in the FCT.

Candidate C has 25% of the votes in 30 states, which is more than two-thirds of the states, but this candidate did not meet the requirement of having one-quarter of the votes in the FCT.

Therefore, based on the constitutional requirements, no candidate has won the election.

My Prompt 2
But FCT can be regarded as if it was a state according to Section 299 and Section 132 (4) states that ...the whole of the Federation shall be regarded as one constituent.

Chat GPT's response:
You are correct that Section 299 of the Nigerian Constitution provides that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) "shall be treated as if it were one of the States of the Federation." Additionally, Section 132(4) of the Constitution provides that "the whole of the Federation shall be regarded as one constituency" for the purpose of the presidential election.

Therefore, taking into account these provisions, the results of the election would be as follows:

Candidate A has 25% of the votes in 15 states and the FCT, which is less than the required two-thirds of the states.
Candidate B has 25% of the votes in 21 states, excluding the FCT, which is more than two-thirds of the states. However, this candidate did not meet the requirement of having one-quarter of the votes in the FCT.
Candidate C has 25% of the votes in 30 states, excluding the FCT, which is more than two-thirds of the states. However, this candidate did not meet the requirement of having one-quarter of the votes in the FCT.
Based on these results, none of the candidates meets the constitutional requirement of having at least one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states in the federation and the FCT. Therefore, no candidate can be declared the winner of the election.

My Prompt 3
What is two-third of 37?

Chat GPT's response:
Two-thirds of 37 is 24.6667, which we can round up or down to the nearest whole number depending on the context.

If we need the answer to be a whole number, we can round up to 25 since it is the closest whole number to 24.6667 that is greater than or equal to it.

Therefore, two-thirds of 37 is 25.

My Prompt 4
Are you sure no candidate met the at least one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states in the federation and the FCT since FCT is like a state?

Chat GPT's response:
You are correct that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is treated as one of the states in Nigeria for the purpose of the presidential election.

Therefore, taking into account that FCT is included in the calculation, the results of the election would be as follows:

Candidate A has 25% of the votes in 15 states and the FCT, which is less than the required two-thirds of the states.
Candidate B has 25% of the votes in 21 states, including the FCT, which is more than two-thirds of the states. However, this candidate did not meet the requirement of having one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states.
Candidate C has 25% of the votes in 30 states, including the FCT, which is more than two-thirds of the states. Additionally, this candidate has one-quarter of the votes in at least two-thirds of all the states, including the FCT.
Therefore, based on the constitutional requirements, Candidate C is the winner of the election.
