Last week, the Nigerian Senate passed a bill for an Act to establish the Nigeria College of Taxation and Fiscal Studies, which has now moved on to its Second Reading.

Senator Abdullahi Aliyu Sabi CON presented the bill on the Senate floor last Tuesday, emphasizing that the institution would provide professional and academic training, as well as certification for tax administrators, tax practitioners, and tax professionals throughout the country. This is a necessary move, given the increasingly vital role that taxation is playing in the nation’s economy.
