Meet Perpetua, martyred for her Christian faith

United Kingdom(UK)-based Evangelist Daniel Chad is popular for his messages at crusades in London and other places.

His recent post on Face Book about Perpetua, a Christian martyr is really inspiring.

“Perpetua was a noblewoman from Carthage who had a guaranteed life of comfort ahead of her. Born in the late 100’s, she lived with her husband, her son, and her slave. Then she converted to Christianity, a decision that changed everything."

A Catholic publication noted that "Perpetua and Felicity, renowned today as Christian martyrs of the third century, are believed to have died in 203 AD. Perpetua was a married noblewoman who was about 22 at the time of her death – with an infant son still nursing.”

"She along with other martyrs died during the reign of the Roman Emperor Septimus Servus (193-211), a time of numerous savage persecutions both local and across the empire. In Carthage some Christians were even burnt alive."
Below is Evangelist Chand's post, entitled: ‘What’s true Christianity? What’s real persecution?”.

“Christain believer and hero of the faith. 22 years old. Wealthy parents. Mother to infant. Martyred for her unwillingness to renounce her faith.

Her father, not a believer, visited her in the prison while she awaited her death to beg her to renounce her faith. She would not.

She would not renounce her faith for her father. She would not renounce her faith for her infant son. She would not renounce her faith to save her life.

She marched to the arena on her day of victory, singing Psalms in joy and not in fear. She was tossed and her tunic tore. She pulled it over her middle, being mindful more of her modesty than her suffering. Her hair disheveled, she stopped to tie her hair up, not wanting to look like she was mourning in her glory.

Not even realizing that she had been injured between the ribs, she says, “Stand fast in the faith, and love one another, all of you, and be not offended at my sufferings.”

Wanting to taste pain, she placed the gladiators sword at her own throat.

“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” 2 Timothy 3:12

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10

This story was republished to strengthen the faith of believers, who are facing serious persecutions, trial and temptations. The lives of early believers, many of who died brutal deaths, should are formidable weapons against every fear and ferocious attacks of satan. Shalom

Many Christians had fallen due to persecution and extreme persecutions from every other beliefs and religions in the world.
This had been since the days that Jesus Christ ascended back to heaven.
But the more the persecutions, the more the newer converts.

This reminds me if Gamaliel's speech:

Acts 5:34-39
Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
