The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, said Nigeria would experience effective governance under the administration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

He noted that Tinubu had the political pedigree and experience to achieve this by May 29 when he would take over the leadership of the country.The President said this in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

He said, “As the President-elect prepares to take over mantle of leadership at 71, the President affirms that his political pedigree from the 90’s, active role in party politics, being elected Senator and later Governor of Lagos State, and diligent involvement in structure of leadership at the Executive and Legislative levels for many years, will serve as asset for good and effective governance.

“President Buhari believes Asiwaju’s warmth, friendliness and generosity has set the pace for a network of friends, home and abroad, that will shape his presidency with requisite expertise to guide the economy, and consolidate on the investments of past leaders, particularly in people-first development and infrastructure” The statement added, “President Buhari prays for the wellbeing of Asiwaju and his family.”

Buhari used Tinubu’s economic template according to former Madam Kemi Adeosun. The legacy this is yielding is homongous debts that Nigeria will pay throughout generations.

Tinubu said he made Buhari president that has been a gross failure. Now Buhari is telling a nation that a Tinubu with many moral baggage is gonna perform wonders? Incredibly! A monumental disater cum catastrophe glorifying another catastrophe promax.

After eight years of Buhari's vacant, dementia-plagued presidency, the last thing Nigeria needs is another presidency that will double down on it, that would be conducted through dishonest press releases by presidential spokespersons, paid social media troll farms, and TV appearances by deviously mercenary mind managers.

In 2015, Buhari was hardly a promising candidate, but things were not supposed to be this bad. The man did not solve any problem but worsened everything with his impotence and sadistic arrogance. That was a leader Tinubu helped install twice & we're supposed to trust his judgement again? No!

After the monumental disaster called Buhari, Nigeria cannot afford another leader whose driving motivation for the presidency is to merely fulfil a lifelong dream. Tinubu has a right to pursue his ambition but not at the expense of poor and long-suffering Nigerians already counting down to the days when Buhari’s nuisance will be escorted out of Aso Rock.

The 2023 election should be a turning point. Recruiting another bumbler as president jeopardises that chance. We can all agree that Nigeria deserves better than a candidate without a viable record of administrative success beyond the cheap propaganda retailed in the media and parroted by those who do not listen to their own thoughts before mouthing them
