That statement is incidianry and mischievous to hurt.
It's totally uncalled for.

However I always felt that the argument against Gbadebo didn't hold water because Osun is also half Igbo and half Yoruba

He may still win 2nd term since he doesn't insult the Yorubas. Osun people knew his mother was IGBO and they still voted for him

What killed Chinedu Gbadebo Rodes-Vivor political career is not because his mother is IGBO but because he was openly supporting IPOB and insulting the Yorubas
Forget that. The main ppl that where against him where politician and Obas who knows the effect on their cake.

Exactly. These trolls want to pretend that it was all due to an "Igbophobia" that is mostly in their heads, rather than what their preferred candidate said and did to alienate Yoruba voters. I wonder how many of them would vote for a candidate who pulled a similar stunt in the SE, even if said candidate were full-blooded Igbo and married to an Igbo woman. These are the same people who call Joe Igbokwe "Yorubakwe" simply for daring to back the APC!

APC are smart they played the tribal card as they did with Jimi Agbaje who was even full blooded Yoruba, way older and even more experienced with government works....

APC had just lost lagos in the presidential elections...did you expect them to play by the rules and loose Lagos just like that.
That's why politicians rules they are way smarter than the others who sadly are in majority.

I am sure many didn't bother reading up the manifesto of sanwo ...the tribal argument is enough.

APC better buckle up...one day their mugus will not buy that tribal card again...but as an Igbo man born in Lagos I rather watch and enjoy the unfolding drama... because their is a time that the people will rise up and the game will be up.

Labour party was simply a response to the frustration nothing else

What a lot of nonsense. Nobody is bothered by Adeleke having an Igbo mother, just as nobody is bothered by Akeredolu having an Igbo wife. The problem with GRV was not his merely having an Igbo mother, nor would his Igbo wife have been an issue, had it not been the case that the entirety of his social media history was slanted in favor of IPOB, Biafran revisionism, flinging tribalistic insults at Yorubas, and other such indicators of where his true loyalties lay. Furthermore, he was doing all of the preceding even as he was arguing against Yoruba being made an official language alongside English in Lagos state, and it is clear he is fluent in Igbo while being unable to pronounce even simple Yoruba words. It was with his own lips that he said "I don't think in Yoruba".

As much as you'd like to believe otherwise, being the notorious tribalist that you are, Yorubas don't jump to paranoid conclusions about candidates based on shallow characteristics. We prefer to judge based on actions, and where the likes of Adeleke and Akeredolu have proven themselves to be true sons of their people, GRV has repeatedly shown in word and deed that he is Igbo first, last and always, even if he has one Saro grandfather from Sierra Leone who happened to migrate to Lagos state in the 1880s.

Co-signed.

GRV's supercilious conduct in the lead up to the elections is actually a throwback to what once obtained in colonial Africa.
In his quest to drive a wedge between various competing but largely harmonious groups in Lagos state, he projected his own familial ties as the most authentic of all.

1) People like you are the problem of Chinedu Rose-Vivor by not telling him the truth. You don't insult a people you hope to govern and expect them to vote for you.

2) You want IIGB0S to rise up against Yorubas in Lagos.. How exactly will IIGB0S do that.

Nice.

If your father or mother is yoruba, you are automatically yoruba if you are truly with yoruba people.

But if you are abusing any ethnic group and you are half of that ethnic group, surely you are not one of them.

There are many cross ethnic marriages in nigeria.
Its good we should encourage it.
Marwa, his children are half igbos also.
Many other examples.

Their goal is to Igbonise Yorubaland. What they failed to do during the civil war when they pushed West and were defeated in Ore is what they are attempting to do now with GRV.

1. GRV is 50% Igbo.
2. He married an igbo
3. His children are 75% Ibo, but will still bear the name Rhodes-vivour.
4. His children will now contest to be Governor of Lagos in future while claiming to be Yoruba.
5. Some of his children may be even married to Igbo.

They will do all they can to take over Lagos and their major weapon is inter-tribal marriage.

This same script is playing out in Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun and Yoruba speaking parts of Kwara and Kogi.

In fact I suspect Seun Osewa is 25% Yoruba, 75% Igbo/Southsouth.
