Famous Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Dele Farotimi, while speaking in response to the flaws that manifested in the conduct of the presidential elections, faulted the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, saying that in a system where law governs, he should be in jail by now.

The lawyer made this statement while speaking during a media chat with the Sahara Reporters, where he further stated that the presidential election tribunal should have come to the realization that INEC deliberately subverted its own system to a preconceived outcome that declared Bola Tinubu the president-elect and winner of the election.

According to him, "On the 25th of February, the Nigerian people turned out to exercise their franchise in an unprecedented number with the hope that they might have genuine changes at the polls; they were engaged, and that was the point where the election ended."

INEC then hijacked the process and proved to be what it has always been—completely Nigerian, in the sense that they chose to be controlled by impunity instead of the principles and guidelines they have promised the Nigerian people. They failed in every way possible for them to fail as an institution. "For me, in a system where there are true citizens, in a system governed by law, Professor Yakubu should be in jail by now because of the multiple infractions of the guidelines that he himself publicly breached and sold deceit to both Nigerians and the international community."

Yes daddy cheesy Daddy you can move to the system where law governs. Atleast Prof. Mahmood tried his best by preventing some hackers to hack our election.

Prof. Mahmood deserves plenty accolades.

This has always been my position.

Even if supreme court reserve judgement.
Someone must pay darely for this crime with life imprisonment or death sentence.

And inec chairman and no other person fits this .

In a society governed by law, everyone is given a chance to a fair trial.

So we should await the Court Justices interpretation of the law before jumping on bandwagon simply because our preferred choice didn't win an election.

I believe the pseudo intellectual should know this.

Prof Mahmood Yakubu is being vilified because he did not allow them to hack the server. They thought they had everything planned out but Yakubu beat them at their own game. After all the dust has settled, Yakubu should be given a national award for saving Nigeria from LPDP and by extension, Nigeria.

As much as I hate Tinubu's character, give the devil his dues. He lost where it matters in Lagos and Osun.

None of the three Presidential candidates should rule any country.

But Dele, which country governed by law better than Osun and Lagos are you referring to?
