1999 and 2003 southeast voted mostly for Obasanjo, a Yoruba Christian.

2007, southeast voted mostly for Yar Adua, a northern Muslim.

2011 and 2015, southeast voted mostly for Goodluck Jonathan, an Ijaw Christian.

2019, southeast voted mostly for Atiku, a northern Muslim.

2023 is the only period southeast voted mostly for a candidate, Peter Obi from their region.

When has southwest voted mostly for a presidential candidate from southeast?

When has north voted mostly for a presidential candidate from southeast?

Some ignorant folks have been repeating statements that 'Obasanjo was not Yoruba's choice'.

Is Obasanjo not a Yoruba man? Brainwashing is a virus that has affected the people making this type of statement that Obj wasn't Yoruba's choice.

1999 presidential election was between two Yoruba people, Olu Falae and Obasanjo. Any that wins between the two will still be a Yoruba man. Olu Falae won majority of votes in southwest in 1999. But what happened in 2003. If they claim Olu Falae was their choice, why didn't they vote for him again in 2003?

In 2003 Presidential election Southwest. Obasanjo got majority of votes in southwestern states.

Ekiti: 301,185

Lagos: 1,129,521

Ogun: 1,360,120

Ondo: 840,988

Osun: 582,089

Oyo: 828,725

When you have Igbos as candidate in the 2 or 3 dominant parties like Obasanjo n Falae you can ask your question then.

For now please furk off. Lagos voted overwhelming for Peter Obi just the way Anambra voted MKO.

All your other argument as no base till the situation is similar.

2023 they voted for PDP too? No matter how you flip it, the block will still fall on your head.

Facts exposed the real bigots.

The southeast has always been politically apathetic right from time till date...

If Obasanjo or Yaradua won, it was because they had the full support of the North and not the East...

More Northerners voted for MKO Abiola than Easterners, infact MKO had the least support in the Southeast...

So yeah, Southeast has to work on their political apathy, and start playing real politics, stop supporting underdogs and start supporting the winning team.

Who did southeast vote for in 1993? An Igbo man?

It's obvious you don't even understand the discussion. Or bigotry beclouded your comprehension.

There was no igbo man running

"Abiola won all the states of the south-west; three of the seven states in the south-east; five of the nine northern states including Kano, Tofa's state; and four out of the seven states in the central middle belt."

This was from wikipedia, as you can see Abiola lost in the Southeast and won everywhere else.

Igbos should start playing realpolitik

They're not losers, because they're not thieves and election riggers.

Tinubu and his supporters are the real losers.
