A young Nigerian Pharmacist identified as Obinna Charles Emeka, has reportedly lost his life after an Abuja hospital demanded for a full X-ray before treatment would commence on the accident victim.

A Facebook user, Chukwuemeka Okwo, while narrating the incident said that the late Obinna was not attended to five hours after the accident as his friends could not get the scan on time.

It's no longer police report but now X-ray report..!

It's difficult to believe this is what transpired. There's no trained doctor in the entire world that puts investigation ahead of resuscitation.

In our environment, patients are notorious for explaining incidents in ways different from how it happened. This is so because they are sometimes ignorant of the reasons behind the steps a doctor takes. For this, I blame some doctors. They fail to adequately counsel their patients on the treatment steps and prognostic possibilities.

So, we need to hear from the hospital too...then an unbiased investigation can be carried.

But this story really doesn't make sense. For example, what do you mean by "full x-ray"?

It's such a sad event. However, the write up by op doesn't look like what really happened.
No skilled doctor in Nigeria will leave his patient to die because he couldn't get an x-ray.

They must resuscitate and stabilize before asking for the xray. A severely injured unstable patient cannot be taken to the xray room.
