Davido, the popular Afrobeats artist on the 31st of March 2023 released a new studio album titled “Timeless” and broke some world records with it.


Timeless is the fourth studio album by Davido. The album was released under the labels of Davido Music Worldwide, Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment. Primarily an amapiano record, the album incorporates elements of dancehall, ragga, konto, highlife, and Afropop.

Davido collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry to create his “Timeless” album. The result was a project that has reportedly resonated with fans worldwide, evidenced by the impressive figures and numbers the album has achieved.


The new album released has reportedly set a new standard in the music industry, with Davido breaking and setting different records.

Davido set a new record with his album “Timeless” by achieving the highest number of album pre-orders for an African artist. The previous record was held by Burna Boy, another Nigerian artist, with his Grammy-winning album “Twice as Tall.”

Davido’s album “Timeless” also broke the record for the most streams in a single day by an African artist, with over 50 million streams across various music platforms. This achievement reportedly surpassed the previous record held by Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” album.

Davido set another record by achieving the highest number of first-day album sales for an African artist. The album reportedly sold over 1 million copies on its first day of release, breaking the previous record held by Burna Boy.

Davido’s album “Timeless” also made history by achieving the most simultaneous tracks on the Top 100 chart across various music platforms. The album’s 17 tracks reportedly occupied every spot on the chart, setting a new record for the African music industry.
