The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has lamented the alleged unfair treatment the Igbos currently receive in Nigeria, and said the panacea is for them to have their own sovereign country.

IPOB said recent happenings have shown that Igbos are not wanted in the country, adding that its members were attacked by the security agents during a peaceful protest in Aba, Abia state.

This was revealed in a statement by the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, on Sunday.

In the statement, Powerful lamented that security agencies allowed Shi’ites to protest peacefully but attacked its members in Aba, Abia State.

The statement partly read, “We are surprised that the Nigerian government and its security agencies, especially their army and police allowed the Shiite Islamic group who protested peacefully twice in Abuja to do so without humiliation or attack, but murdered IPOB members who were protesting peacefully in Aba, Abia State for asking for the unconditional release of their leader, Kanu on the 3rd of April 2023.

“It is now on record that Ndigbo are not wanted in Nigeria due to the hatred shown to us. We must organise ourselves immediately and leave Nigeria for the other nationalities who are allowed to act freely in Nigeria.”

It's all Nnamdi Azikiwe's fault.

KayB:
Forwarded as received

*OBAFEMI AWOLOWO ASKED FOR SECESSION CLAUSE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CONSTITUTION, THE NORTH SUPPORTED THE MOTION, BUT I IGNORANTLY OPPOSED AND THE BRITISH (HYPOCRITICALLY) SUPPORTED MY ARGUMENT*

An Interview granted by Nnamdi Azkiwe in 1975.

*Read and learn..*

"Nnamdi Azikiwe stated that... When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.

That was when we began to use that expression – ‘The Indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation’ – and that to secede would amount to treason. And so, a debate ensued.

The Secretary of State then was Oliver Littleton, later Lord Chandos and he was very much interested and that was his first time in saying that the people of African descent were people actually debating at a high level.

So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded.

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason

We adjourned. The next day, I had to reply. I availed myself of the opportunity to, well, demolish the arguments of my friend and I cited the case of United States which based its constitution on that of the Swiss Confederation. That is Switzerland. I pointed out a case, I think, that of Texas versus White, where Mr. Salmon Chase, the Chief Justice laid down the principle – he was really an arbiter – that the union was intended to be perpetual and indivisible and that any attempt to divide the union by secession was treasonable.

Also read Why Awolowo did not make West secede

The North (NPC) supported Action Group. The question was then: Should we have secession? *"The Colonial Office came to our rescue. YOU KNOW THE USUAL PRINCIPLE OF BRITAIN – ‘ *DIVIDED AND RULE'* (laughs) but this time, it was in our favour. So, the colonial office backed us."

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86.... ."

Leave Nigeria and go to igbo land where igbo people are grand masters of segregation and discrimination against each other.
Anambra calls Imo people inferior
Imo calls Abia inferior
Abia calls Ebonyi slaves
Enugu calls Imo thieves.

The fact that an Ibo man can still point fingers at his fellow Ibo man, in this modern era and call his fellow Ibo man OSU shows the kind of "scattered unity" they have. Ibo people are their own chief enemy.

Just as soon as you disagree with their views they will NEVER ask why or try to see your point of view, no matter how factual or intelligent it is, they just gather and call you names like efulefu.
Ibo people will eat each other

I hate IPOB so much.
They caused the disaster going on in the South East now.
South East has would have been a very peaceful region but the IPOB terrorists undermined it. The fact that they still have followers surprises me.
Even if Nigeria would divide, South East has no business with IPOB. The South East will leave Nigeria if it becomes necessary. As of today, Nigeria government is better than the murderous and autocratic government IPOB want to usher in.

A sensible Igbo. How rare. You belong in a museum with unique antiquities. Your fellow Igbos will never listen though.

They will call you "efulefu" because they love their hate preachers too much since those ones know how to massage their egos telling them that 'outsiders' are the beginning and end of all the problems of the Igbo man.

Remember Kanu announcing that if you see a Yoruba man and a snake in a room you must kill the Yoruba man first?
