Governor Obaseki recently disclosed that his administration has completed the construction of 40km out of the 200km of streetlights projects around the greater Benin area. Just recently, he commissioned the 3km streetlights projects along Siluko Road in Egor Local Government Area and another 3.3km streetlights along Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA, with many more being powered on a daily basis along those stretch without much ado. Also recently, the Governor commissioned the streetlights which covers an extensive stretch of roads, starting from Ring Road, Igun, Upper Igun, Murtala Mohammed Way, and Ewa Road Junction, extending all the way through to NABTEB.

In addition to the extension of the initiative, the state government has also embarked on the Akpakpava streetlight project. The project covers a length of 5.67km, starting from Ring Road to the roundabout of Ramat Park. I have personally witnessed the streetlights in Uselu Lagos Road, Airport Road, New Lagos Road and their extension that were powered few months ago...
