Mazi Emma Uche, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the southeast, officially announced his withdrawal from the party on Tuesday. He has joined the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State, along with his political associates and numerous supporters from all local electoral wards in Arochukwu Local Government Area.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Mr Uche explained that the ongoing and unavoidable internal crisis within the Abia chapter of the APC compelled him to make this decision.

He believed that these internal conflicts have hindered the party’s genuine desire and chances of winning elections and forming a government in Abia State, including the recently conducted 2023 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
