Hon. Joseph Ikpea Pleads with Tinubu to help facilitate Pardon and release of Senator Ekweremadu, Wife.

A Frontline governorship aspirant in the 2024 gubernatorial election in Edo state, Hon. Dr. Joseph Ikoea, has joined other individuals and institutions appealing for the unconditional release of Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice from UK prison, as he passionately appeals to President-elect, H.E Bola Tinubu, to help facilitate the release of Nigeria former deputy senate president and his wife.

Recall Ekweremadu, his wife; and their doctor, Obinna Obeta were convicted for organ trafficking after a six-week organ trafficking trial at the Old Bailey, in the first verdict of its kind under the Modern Slavery Act. The couple and their doctor on March 23 were found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man to Britain on behalf of Ekweremadu’s sick daughter, Sonia, with a view to his exploitation.

Hon. Joseph Ikpea, in a short appeal to the President-elect, H.E Bola Tinubu, describes Ekweremadu, as a true Patriot who cannot be abandoned in this current situation banking on his immense contribution to the growth of democracy in the country. He added that, the senator may have made the mistake of commiting the crime but his sense of reason may have been over taken by the circumstances beyond his control which any couple in such situation could make to save the life of their dying child.

He added, " though nobody is above the law and ignorance isn't an excuse in law but I believe something can still be done to tamper justice with mercy, as the world have recorded in the case of prominent individuals and statesmen, the case can be revisited to right some wrongs in the issue and our President-elect, can help facilitate their pardon with his great affluence.

"Our great leader and President-elect, as May 29th, draws near and as you prepare to take the seat of the ruler of this great country, I passionately appeal to you to take the issue of Ekweremadu and wife top on your agenda and do all that is possible to get them out the prison in UK. It's generally believed that when a good ruler is in power the people rejoice, and it's on this note that I draw your attention to this issue and bring great joy to the family and the people whose joy have been stolen by this ugly situation.

"The people know you are good because of your past benevolent actions which have lifted great number of the citizens out of sorrow and poverty, irrespective of tribe and regions. Further, you are a man with global repute adorned with great respect, no wonder the TIME Magazine, recently named you as one of the 100 most influential people in the World.

"You were listed among the 20 world leaders that made the 2023 edition of the magazine, describing your accomplishment as a “no easy feat” by winning the Nigerian presidential election after “nearly two decades” of preparation. So it's not gibberish or lost of words to say you have the capacity and capability to help facilitate the pardon and release of Senator Ekweremadu and wife.

" Please give your support in this great task because it's a great thing and greatness is always attached to your name". He said.

To be very honest, i really Pity the Ekweremadus. That Family is Going through a lot at the Moment.
