What I am saying is any container that has held fuel (petrol or lpg inside it) is full of flammable fumes. Unless you degass or fully evacuatee the fumes, the container is unsafe to be near a source of flame. Those cylinders may as well have been Jerrycans of petrol. Only difference is that it may have taken a while for them to warm to ignition temp, but once they did they would have ensured the fire really got out of control.
