*GLOBAL GOALS: YAPJEN TO INDUCT OUTSTANDING NIGERIANS AS GLOBAL GOALS AMBASSADORS*


A Global Goals Advocacy Organisation, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) which recently received the endorsement of the Embassy of Nigeria, The Republic of Burundi, East Africa following its programs which attracted foreigners from Europe to Nigeria is set to induct outstanding Nigerians as Global Goals Ambassadors in a bid to amplify the popularisation, localisation and implementation of the United Nations Global Goals also known as Sustainable development goals in Nigeria.


Speaking to newsmen in Abuja after paying a courtesy call to American Spaces in Abuja, Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu LLB, The President, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) stated that Global Goals are a collection of seventeen interlinked objectives formulated in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and designed to serve as a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet and made actionable by a UNGA resolution that identifies specific targets for each goal and provides indicators to measure progress.


The targets include No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequality, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land, Peace and Justice, Strong Institutions, Partnerships to achieve the Goal.


He revealed that achieving the United Nations Global Goals by 2030 requires the concerted efforts of Government, organised private sector, civil society and non governmental organisations as well as individuals to drive the awareness campaign and initiate programs for the implementation of the global goals hence the need for the investiture of Outstanding individuals which include Amb. Francis Chukwuyekwe, Hon. Ndife Scofield Ikechukwu among others as Global Goal Ambassadors as thier indelible imprint and activities over the years has been geared towards the attainment of the United Nations Global Goals.
