coputa: Because they too have to pay their workers and suppliers and even some subscribers well. Plus look at all the antennas and cables and other infrastructure they built. Did government spend money? No. Nitel's mobile arm mtel chose your way. Today they are moribund except for their internet service arm...which was kind of privatised |

nairalanda1:Yes we are saying the same thing.Servces offered by government are epileptic but cheap and services offered by private firms are effective but costly. This is what's obtainable in Europe and America, their citizens enjoy uninterrupted services but they pay highly for It. |

coputa: The problem with cheap services is eventually they are not sustainable Unless taxes go up or loans are taken That's why Nitel is not a major telecoms player anymore. It costs money to upgrade and maintain stuff |

The same tribalism bigots in the southwest that are voting for APC are the same ones that are busy lining up on the hot sun and fighting their lives away to buy fuel for 567 Naira per liter isn’t this country just delightfully stupid? |

coputa: At the moment no one knows. We lost refining capacity years ago. Years of subsidy wrecked our refineries by making them unprofitable and loss making. And niduses for sabotage and stealing |

nairalanda1: How did years of subsidy Nigeria's refineries? How did subsidy make the refineries unprofitable and loss making? I have asked you this question several times, you have never been able to answer. Since they started removing subsidy, how much of it has been removed? How much of the subsidy is remaining or left to be removed? 1 Like |

koladata: India has the Hindu as the dominant sect. Other ethnic groups in India abide by the established Hindu value systems in public spaces but practice their value systems as well in private. That's behind nationhood formation in India. Guess why Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri have been gunning for a Nigeria to be governed with Islamic Sharia criminal laws. USA is governed by the value systems of the English. Wherever you come from in the world and live in the USA, you must abide by the same value systems of the English for USA in public spaces but practice your traditional value systems in private. That's how nationhood came to the USA. |

koladata:It's not true that black Africans are wicked. Truth is that the Berlin Conference mixed different African nations, each nation with its value systems different from the others' value systems, to form one country. The clash of value systems in one country is what you see as blacks being wicked to their fellow black people. South Africa progressed under Apartheid policy because the value systems of Europe dominated all through the Apartheid policy period. In Nigeria for example, a president Buhari used the country's resourced to build all sorts of development infrastructures in his native Daura and extended to Niger 🇳🇪 Republic where people of his native Daura share common value systems with people in Niger Republic. The maddening struggle for who would preside over Nigeria is also because groups in the struggle want to use the country's resources for betterment of their ethnic groups first before, if ever the leader can think of betterment in other ethnic groups. |
