If you believe this propaganda then you are on a long thing. The same Dangote refinery that is facing a cash flow issue that the go live has been pushed forward several times. Expect Dangote to issue a rebuttal.

So even if the go live date has been pushed back a few times, won't it eventually get completed someday??

That day has finally come and you are still being toxic about it.

It's not s magic solution but it's a fast better solution to the government owning it.

Name over company in Nigeria owned by the government that is doing very well.

Finally, Dangote refinery is ready.
PMB wants to take glory for it, hence ensuring he commissions it before leaving office.
Hope they will start refining immediately after commissioning?
How will it's functioning affect subsidy and petrol price?
It's all a scam, that refinery us far from ready.
Buhari the scammer just want to show off as though he did something by commissioning an incomplete project before leaving office.

Fuel will now be #750/litre. I just hope that oil thieves will allow the refinery to work at full capacity

Took time to read all u wrote here and others and I have concluded that u eye no dey clear at all shocked

nairalanda1:

No it is not because subsidy means one thing...the price of fuel is set below the production price.

Here is how subsidy works in Nigeria.

In 2011....price of fuel was N65, landing cost was N99.

By 2022, price of fuel was N186, landing cost was....N502.

Note that the difference bewtween the two is what covers for subsidy. Now add the fact that fuel consumption has risen between 2011 and 2022, plus the source of income to pay subsidy has fallen due to poor oil revenue over the 11 years, plus mass smuggling puts pressure on the subsidy money, and then NNPC has been forced by Buhari since 2016 to do much of the subsidising.

At the end, it means larger debt, loss of money and so forth.

You that is supporting subsidy, you won't like it if government did the same thing to your business to help the poor.

It is also for the above that we have bad refineries. When subsidy started, we had 2 working refineries, today we have 4 bad ones.

Even with local production, the problem still remains that local producers need to make a profit to keep refineries running well..and they cannot do that with subsidy.

He has Dangote Foundation, an NGO. Na from there he just paid N100k each to Sudan returnees. He has been doing a lot but the foundation doesn’t make noise. It is usual of NGOs and their staff ‘chop’ in silence. 😁

Governor has 2 billion dollars to dash out but cannot repair the existing refineries

They have been repairing the existing ones for years. As I send you this, overhauling is still on going across the 3 refineries. It’s just that NNPC and the contractors handling the overhaul are insincere and c.orrupt. The NigerDelta problems too contributed to the delay. And the cabals eating from that subsidy regime.

I hope the project is 100% completed and workimg & is not Nija political Gallery. I read some where that the project cost, dollar debts and shifts affected the initial time of completion. As always Govt CBN Dollar funding and monopolistic tendency to Dangote will keep him afloat.. Also hope that importation of Pms will end this year

Look at the bigger picture, this will herald positive change in the Oil & Gas Sector of the economy.

After Dangote, Jude Okocha will open his own Refinery, Orient Petroleum will complete their Refinery which has been abandoned since 2004.
Edo Modular Refinery will expand into the production of petrol.

BUA is already building their own Refinery at Akwa-Ibom State.

Imported petrol is subsidised while Dangote's will not be. In fact, subsidy will stop as soon as the refinery starts producing.

Ultimately, Dangote's petrol will be cheaper than the imported ones once subsidies are removed

This project was not delivered through the 5 years reigns of Jonathan, add another 8 years under Buhari, same of the same. The only thing good is the empty bragging, the largest refinery in the world.

That project is becoming an Ozark.

Why is that you people don't have sense. A report was shown here in Nairaland some weeks back on the games being played by FG on the Dangote Refinery and how the completion date is highly unrealistic judging from the cash flow problems he has. This is the same lie they gave when they increased fuel and lied that they removed subsidy I told people that it is a lie that subsidy is there, no one believed the same idiots vilified me. Now I have been vindicated. The same dolls like yourself are now because of selfishness and crumbs that you are fed are now deceiving people and spreading, by making them fall for the usual gimmick and propaganda of Buhari regime that always commission a project that is yet to be completed. Make una dey play, the game they want to use is to create a soft landing in the minds of Nigerians by the time subsidy is removed by July and Dangote now covertly imports fuel and fixes it at 700 to 750 per liter na then una eyes go clear.
