Mauricio Pochettino is a retired Argentine professional footballer and former manager of Tottenham Hotspur. He was born on March 2, 1972 in Murphy, a small town in Santa Fe Province, Argentina. Pochettino comes from a football family background; his father, Hector Pochettino, was a well-known footballer in Argentina who played for Newell's Old Boys and Boca Juniors during the 1960s and 70s.

Football Career

Pochettino started playing football at a very young age and was soon spotted by scouts from Newell's Old Boys. He joined the club's youth academy and began his professional career in 1988, at the age of 16. Pochettino spent nine years at Newell's Old Boys and played over 200 games for the club, winning the Argentine Primera Division title in 1991.
