That is a piece of fatherly advice.

There's no sense in Obi's petition, rather is opens up the wound of the role played by some SE politicians in scuttling the election of Abiola.

Imagine the same line of argument today being put up by the same people with their shameful demand for interim government and military take over, something they didn't say when Buhari won the election in 2015 and 2019 while they were in PDP despite the election being marred with some irregularities.

Is this the part they will toe in the future when election is being contested between a SS and SE?

So, it's now a crime to seek justice if someone feels he's illtreated right? All these foolish talk only shows how empty you guys are. You are highly partisan even in the face of justice and it's very bad.

I'm from SS and even though my brother may become one of the principals of the FG in Tinubu's government, I still stand for justice. The SS stands to gain more with Akpabio as the SP, but I still support justice.

If the court can establish that Obi won the election, then let them pronounce him the winner. I can't sit here to support injustice because the matter favors my own. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Oluwaseun Temitope Osewa and his fellow managers are you seeing all this tribalism and myopic words.

Nairaland is sincerely no more conducive to read anything and enjoy comment.
Almost all the tribes that (especially Ibos and Yorubas) enters here would be annoyed because insult on his or her tribe.
Consider empolying more mangers even if it on Volunteering. Here is already toxic.

Because it is unheard of for someone who came third in an election to claim he won

Obi need to contest the second position first and can only lay claim to the first position after he had defeated Atiki who came second.

His case against Tinubu is well understood by the SW people and history will always be there to reckon with.

Stop spewing trash...
Your argument is shallow and unintelligent.
Re: Ooni Asks Atiku, Obi Supporters To Embrace Tinubu's Government. by 2T215: 9:21am On May 09, 2023
Oni has made his appeal and he is at liberty to do so. He is exercising his freedom of speech! . One would expect that the issues of injustice raised before, during and after the elections should also have been addressed by him to lay a good ground for any acceptance of his plea; if his plea is worthy of acceptance.

The cases before the courts will shape the future of elections in Nigeria and would define the way elections would be held in the future; we can waste this opportunity. Let the courts address the issues of INEC rascality and bias, let political parties field candidates without moral burden, let the electorate have a say and decide who they vote for and let the votes count.
Lets not deprive ourselves of the opportunity to be great. We respect the ONI of IFE but on this subject, it is way beyond him.

That man na illiterate. It takes a high degree of illiteracy to say a man who "came" third cannot contest the outcome of an election.

Ooni is not in position to tell Nigerians the government to embrace, If Tinubu government is good everyone will embrace it

Most king and traditional rulers in Southwest are too political, is never ideal for a traditional ruler to be familiarizing with a certain political party or participating in politics they should be neutral and carry everyone along, I remember when Gbardebo went to visit him in his palace only his words and body language will tell you much about his stance on politics

You people wonder why Oba of Benin is widely respected and regarded as one among the greatest royal empire in history? The Oba of Benin both past and present donโ€™t participate in politics they welcome any political parties and give their blessings and advise politicians to do well when elected regardless of the political party you belong, I remembered when Obaseki n Philip Shuaibu was aspiring to become Governor he warned them seriously not to play a do or die politics n also further advice them to see their opponents as their brothers too because they are all Edo state.

Building a nation doesnโ€™t go well with tribalism

Nigeria's leadership class know full well that different ethno-religious groups in one country can never bring nationhood to the country.

Europeans detest lumping different ethnic groups to form one country in Europe; worse, having different religious groups in one country.
Switzerland ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ the only multi ethnic country in Europe had its three ethnic groups sit down on a table where they ironed out the terms of the coexistence of the German, French and Italian ethnic groups in one Switzerland.
Belgium ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช which is made up of two ethnic groups is the most politically unstable country in Europe.
The error of Berlin Conference in merging different nations in Africa to form the various African countries is the major undoing of African countries.
In Nigeria, the lure of petrodollars would not allow the leadership class tell the truth that nationhood CAN NEVER come to Nigeria.

I think most of you don't read, that is why you just follow beer parlor news, the case at that time was about the absent of result from 388 polling unit (out of 1235 polling units), first INEC AND PDP presented no evidence that election were conducted in those polling units, while Hope made sure that the result were secured with the Police, Hope claimed that those 388 polling units were his stronghold (NO COUNTER CLAIM), almost all the votes in those polling units were given to him and the result changed everything.

I think the issue was, they knew those polling units were his stronghold so they made a calculated attempt to exclude the results, now almost every election has something like this, if it was a matter of thugs destroying the result from some not all of the those polling units, it will be a different thing (They might redo the election), its like the Adamawa issue, they knew if the result continued they won't will, they quickly declared someone else when result we still not complete.

In the case of the presidential election, the difference is, Obi can't lay claim to anywhere he lost as his stronghold, and none of those place were omitted from the election result, non can he say the result from south East were omitted or falsified because he won with a very surprising margin, now, his prayers is to disqualify Tinubu, and claim that there was violence in some places, while the violence claim can't get him anything, if he succeed in disqualifying Tinubu, the runner up will be crowned.

In your dreams lol..

Ohanaeze Ndigbo is what? A picnic group ? Cargo cult or a ethno-political organisation ? Last time I checked the hierarchies of O.N are traditional leaders.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo recently made statements reflecting their support for Peter Obi & their scorn for Tinubu...that's what? Apolitical ?

And they are very right & justified to support their own which is Obi, but why regard his opponents with disdain?

Iwuanyanwu made a denigrating remark concerning Yorubas , ain't that a political brush ? Or does that sounds like comedy to you ? Iwuanyanwu is the Chairman COE of Ohanaeze Ndigbo

The northern traditional leadership is what ? Just for religious sake or to make money selling millet & corn? No they very political ..

You've just contradicted yourself, by mentioning the Oba's warning to Edo politicians..the fact that you warn someone means you can take actions against them if they fail to heed the warning... the People will side their century-old traditional rulers against any modern day politician

The Oba of Benin is politically conscious but he doesn't waste time yapping crazy on other ethnic groups, he's focused on his own people, the Benin people, neither is he trying to out-climb the leaves on a tree by claiming other people's heritage as a "no man's land"..

The Oba of Benin is a wise man..learn from him ..if a Benin man runs for president watch the entire Benin traditional leadership back him up ..

Kabiyesi, ki ade pe Lori, ki bata pe lese ooo. This advise is coming too late, if you caution the APC and INEC, when they were shouting go to court go to court, as obedient, I would have support this statement. But yakubu was so arrogant that he called all oppositions parties to go to court, while he was doing the wrong things, because the peoples mandate is not allowed by inec, that is why we have bad governance, in Nigeria, because they purchase the mandate with their money from inec, so they turned governance into business venture. Also, Kabiyesi, for your information asiwaju does not represent anything omoluabi, that we Yoruba are known for, his governance in Lagos, that make him to hold on to power in Lagos, to all his personal credentials that are subject to controversy, does not make him to represent omoluabi, the symbol of which you represent as king, and orirun Yoruba.
