The European Union (EU) says it intends to work with Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, to build a mutually beneficial relationship with Nigeria.

Samuela Isopi, EU ambassador to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), spoke on Tuesday during the celebration of Europe Day in Abuja.

Isopi said the EU is Nigeria’s biggest trading partner and is looking forward to working with the new administration for further gains.

“A democratic, peaceful, strong, and prosperous Nigeria is in the interest of Europe and the world,” she said.

“The EU is already Nigeria’s biggest trading partner, accounting for more than 20 percent of Nigerian trade with the world and a significant trade balance in favour of Nigeria.

“The EU is also Nigeria’s first partner in foreign direct investments with an estimated foreign direct investment stock of over 30 billion euros.

“EU companies contribute to the economic diversification and growth, to job creation and wealth generation. We are keen to do more together.”

Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs, said the EU remains a model of growth for Nigeria.

He said the EU proved global opinions wrong by becoming a stronger institution of great repute after Brexit.

“The transformation of all the member states is the model Nigeria and Africa want to emulate, by having a conflict-free Africa,” he said.

Onyeama said the EU and Nigeria share values such as multilateralism and rules-based order, adding that “we are both enriched by unity in diversity” bound by shared values and by a common interest to work even more closely together.

He said the union would strengthen the fight against violent extremism and insecurity in the north-east of the country, in West Africa and in the Gulf of Guinea.

The minister added that the partnership between the EU and the incoming administration will “further boost our trade, investment, digital and energy cooperation from supporting the continuous deepening of Nigeria’s growing democracy”

Those people searching for their missing manhood will now beam their searchlight on Samuela Isopi's rectum.

Ipob may need to also search his pocket, corn and cassava may be there. Alternatively, they may check his residence, 3 bullion vans might be parked there.

Very funny pipu.

These people know the real winner of the election and are ready to work with him while some deluded folks are still looking for their nonexistent mandate up and down.
They will soon come and roast the EU now for speaking the truth.

EU or whatever it's called has long lost its economic relevance because of her penchant for interfering with the internal affairs of independent countries.

The Europeans and Americans cares less of what happens in Africa, provided that the have a strong bilateral trade with African countries.

Africa is cursed with a lot of mineral resources, that is why they can't deal without Africa.

Almost all the mineral resources can be found in Nigeria, yet we are wallowing is abject poverty.

Africa needs to wake up and take the bull by it horns..... If we know our value, the rest of the continents will be bowing down to our feet.

EU undecided

Totally irrelevant and pompous organisation only on the lookout for riches here to bolster their members' old, tired economies.

France is drowning in debt, can barely sustain itself yet goes around deluding itself that it has any power or influence globally. France and the rest are hiding behind the EU to push a neo-colonialist agenda.

If they want partnership, their companies should bring their money to invest here.

Like Buhari, Tinubu must not sign any EU-Nigeria trade pact that is not in our interest. I thank Buhari for refusing to sign that agreement. Ghana signed it - where are they now.

We should be looking east to China, India, Singapore, South Korea etc for trade and technological partnerships. Asia is the continent of tomorrow.
