A Nigerian Police Officer, Anas Bello Bungundu and his wife, Hassana Musa Yusuf, have died in an auto crash.

It was gathered that the accident occurred on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Sokoto State.

His wife died on the spot while Anas was rushed to UDUTH, Sokoto, where he passed away on Tuesday, May 9.

The couple got married last year.

A colleague, ASP Isah Lukman Imam, who confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 10, said the couple were on their way to a friend's wedding when the accident occurred.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajiun. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of my brother and friend Anas Bello, fondly known as D.C, and his beloved wife Hassana Musa Yusuf. They were taken from us suddenly and tragically in a car accident while on their way to celebrate the wedding of a friend,” he wrote.

"Anas was a dedicated police officer attached to the Illela Division of the Sokoto State Command, and he was deeply committed to his work. He was also a caring friend and a devoted husband to Hassana, who he married just last year in February. Anas was deeply in love with Hassana, and his devotion to her was evident in everything he did. They were a beautiful couple, and their love for each other was an inspiration to us all. Though their time together was tragically cut short, we take comfort in knowing that they were together in love and in faith until the very end.

"Anas was my course mate in college of agric and animal science Bakura where we obtained our diploma in animal health and production in 2012. We remained close friends over the years, and I always valued his honesty and his willingness to tell me what I needed to hear, even if it was not what I wanted to hear. Despite the distance between us, we stayed connected through our shared experiences and our mutual respect for each other. He was always friendly and approachable, and he had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Although I was unable to attend his wedding, I know from our conversations that he was deeply in love with Hassana and was looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life with her.

"Anas and Hassana will be greatly missed by their family, friends, and colleagues. We take comfort in knowing that they lived their lives with love, kindness, and dedication to their work and to each other. May their souls rest in peace, and may their memories continue to inspire us all

Just by look at the state of the car you can conclude that it is caused by over speeding... Honestly, Nigerians don't know how to drive....
Every smooth and free road is an avenue to speed... You all think because there is no speed camera or police on the road, you can drive anyhow....
