If Hilda were to be a man she wouldn't get this amount of recognition - Nigerian Singer, Smart Ose laments

Edo born Nigerian singer and songwriter best known as Smart Ose has publicly called out those celebrating, Hilda who recently broke a Guinness World Record for ‘longest cooking time’.

Smart Ose, on his Facebook page and Instagram account, on Monday, accused Nigerians for not giving credits to men.

In the post his wrote "If Hilda were to be a man attempting to break this record would she get this amount of recognition. As much as I am proud of her achievement for cooking for more than 88 hours, let's not deceive ourselves that this is about her beauty and shape. If she wasn't a beautiful woman, she wouldn't have gotten thus amount of recognition. No one is talking about the male assistant who have been standing with her since day 1. Wetin men do una self

Many reactions has followed the post.

Hilda, a 27 year old Nigerian female Chef, on Monday morning, smashed the 87 hours 45 minutes record set by Guinness World Record holder, Lata Tandon.


Hilda launched into the competition on Thursday at exactly 4 pm when she put on her cooker.

The restaurateur carries on despite having broken the record as she aims to cook for 96 hours, setting a new world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking.


Hilda has continued to receive a wave of support from political leaders, celebrities, clerics, and other well-meaning Nigerians something Smart Ose doesn't agree with as he argued that her assistant, a male, should also receive same recognition.
