In a courtroom drama at the Presidential Election Petitions Court in Abuja on Wednesday, the names put forward as representatives of the Labour Party were dismissed by the court.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that as is customary in court proceedings, parties are required to announce their appearance when the judges enter the courtroom. This allows the lawyers involved in the case to do the same.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, stood up to announce his appearance as the first petitioner. Following him, the Labour Party’s national women leader, Mrs. Dudu Manuga, announced her appearance as the second representative of the party.

However, while Obi and Manuga were speaking, Lamidi Apapa, the factional chairman of the Labour Party, stood up to identify himself.

Despite not being given a microphone, he declared himself as the chairman of the party and interrupted Manuga, asserting that he was the true representative of the Labour Party.

The five-man panel of the court, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, expressed clear displeasure with the unfolding situation. The judge made it clear that they would not recognize anyone claiming to represent the Labour Party. He acknowledged Obi’s appearance as the first petitioner but did not acknowledge any representatives from the party.

Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party, was present in court but did not announce his appearance.

This development stems from a crisis that arose when two separate courts in Abuja and Edo issued conflicting orders regarding the recognition of different leadership factions within the political party.

Summary;
Lamidi Apampa is the Vice president of Labor party "South" even before Obidients knew what labor party was, while Abure was the party chairman. Labor party was chaired by the a northner for most of it's creation since 2003.

Abure was removed by his ward level party men in Edo and his suspension was ratified by a court. Hence, based on labor party's constitution, Lamidi was the next inline to take charge of the party..

However, just before Apampa could take charge, Abure who is now suspended called a national council meeting of Labor party and suspended Apampa, this will enable Abure name his own interim successor pending the time Abure will fight his suspension in Court.

Apampa saw this and decided to escalate this matter, hence the current status which Labour party find themselves.

It's simply veteran of the party fighting over the spoils of the fourtne of the party.

The new party men have already concluded based on Apampa ethnicity that He is working for Tinubu rather than understand the underlining issues.

Good! Peter Obi allowed into the court room. He is fighting personally and party wise for the mandate. APC think they are smart, but Peter Obi is smarter than them all including that Apapa of a man.

Apapa's actions have shown that he is a saboteur , and wants to scuttle the cases in Court. If not, why secretly plotting to to change the Labour Party's lead counsel? Why the sudden fight after cases have been filed?

Apapa is a fifth columnist who mustn't be allowed to succeed with his evil intentions
