CONTROVERSIAL PEER Baroness Flather has caused outrage after claiming that Nigerian men have four wives because they are lazy.

Lady Flather make the offensive comments during a phone-in interview on polygamy yesterday (Sept 27), according to the Daily Mail.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 breakfast show, the 77-year-old blasted a Nigerian caller who claimed his father had four wives, but managed to live together in the same house without arguments.

"Most of the men in Nigeria don’t do anything, their wives do all the work, that’s why they have so many," she retaliated.

Fellow guest, Khola Hasan, of the Islamic Sharia Council, called the former conservative MP's arguments "unfair" and suggested that if she made similar comments to the Baroness she would be called racist.

However, Flather went on, "They [Nigerians] have four wives – one to do the farming, one to look after the children, one to look after the man and one to do the housework. It is just a fact. Why should I lie?"

Last night BBC Radio 5 released a statement saying the peer’s views were "entirely her own."

She is ignorant of realities on ground,she may even have other ideas ,like lions walking the streets,because she did not know its a show of affluence for some people who have money in morden day Nigeria

She hasn't stayed in Nigeria to say such a thing, that statement is just her f***ing opinion, how many Nigerian men can afford 2 wives? the economy is battered, the standard of living for a striving Nigeria bachelor is super below an average in  her country, this hag has read a lot of Tarzans and Jungle Book like tales about Africans and she thinks we're all truly like that. I'd really like to hear her comments regarding them Mormons in certain country such as USA who marry more than one wives because certain section in the Christian Bible ascribed it.
