SKILL For a NEW NIGERIA.

Good Day
As we embark on this first day of a new era, I say a big Congratulations to us all and we pray that it will be fulfilling and successful for all of us.

After the Presidential Inauguration program, the President Elect; Bola Ahmed Tinubu took on his first official duty, addressing the beautiful people of Nigeria. He shared his plans for the great people of Nigeria and made it clear that the journey towards the change we seek may be rough.

However, this is not meant to discourage or scare Nigerians, but rather to serve as a call to action for each and every one of us to be proactive and diligent.

In light of this, I want to emphasize that now is the time to pick up a new skill. It doesn't matter if you have a white-collar job or any other occupation; being skillful is not limited by your current position.

Developing additional skills is always a valuable pursuit, and it can greatly contribute to your personal and professional growth, opening up new opportunities and making you more adaptable in our rapidly changing world.

Here are some of the advantages of acquiring new skills:

*Adaptability:* Learning new skills allows you to adapt to changing circumstances and market demands. It enables you to explore different career paths and find opportunities in emerging industries.

*Increased Employability:* Expanding your skill set makes you a more attractive candidate to employers. It demonstrates your motivation, versatility, and willingness to learn, which are highly valued qualities in any job.

*Entrepreneurial Opportunities:* Acquiring new skills can equip you with the knowledge and abilities needed to start your own business or become a freelancer. It gives you the freedom to pursue your passion and potentially create new job opportunities for yourself and others.

*Personal growth:* Learning a new skill is intellectually stimulating and can boost your confidence and self-esteem. It allows you to challenge yourself, expand your knowledge base, and discover new talents and interests.

*Networking and collaboration:* Engaging in skill development often involves interacting with others who share similar interests. This provides opportunities to expand your network, collaborate on projects, and learn from experienced individuals in your field.

Remember, acquiring a new skill takes time and effort. It's important to choose a skill that aligns with your interests and goals.

In a time and changing space as we are now, there are some skills that are "Must Have to fit into the digital system we are moving into.

Whether you decide to learn Digital Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, AI Engineering, Copywriting, Coding, Graphic design, Public Speaking, Website Development/Design or any other skill, there are numerous online resources available such as tutorials, courses, and communities to help you get started.

Wishing you the best of luck on your skill-building journey. May this new era bring about positive change for you and all Nigerians as we collectively strive towards a brighter future.

Until I come your way again.
*Prince Samson Joshua* is my name.
