A few days ago on the 29th of May 2023, many people gathered in Emene, Enugu, to hold an all night candlelight vigil of prayers and songs. The aim was to remember and pray for the souls of the millions who died during the Biafran war During the course of the prayers, the prayer ground was invaded by a combined team of the Nigerian Army, Police and DSS, shooting in all directions. Several people were reported to have been killed and 15 arrested, as people scampered in all directions for their lives. Yesterday, the 15 people arrested were charged for treason, terrorism, having Biafran paraphernalia and belonging to IPOB. What is happening in Nigeria is comedy show. I have never seen the security forces act this fast when herdsmen are killing people in parts of Enugu State including the same Emene. But people who were peacefully praying for the souls of their war dead are invaded, shot at, killed, arrested and charged with treason and terrorism?
