Government have no single reason to remove subsidy, and for your information government is lying and cheating the masses.freight have gone down since 8 months by more than 400% in the international market, did government reduce price of fuel since then? Now to the main issues, did government increase minimum wage? Did government provide mass transit buses to local government to cushion the effect of high transport, what did government did that makes them to increase or remove subsidy? Anybody in this forum who is receiving #30,000 as a minimum wage and still support this evil policy should examine himself or herself or maybe stealing at his/her working place.

What about businesses that don't make use of petrol, will there be an increase in their services and goods?
Is their a business that didn't use petrol? I doubt it.

Fuel Subsidy is Gone

Nigerians will suffer today just to enjoy tomorrow

That's your opinion. Your leaders are not suffering together with you. You alone is suffering while they are enjoying today and tomorrow.

Ask any responsible man with a wife and three kids if he's ready to suffer now for the atrocity few people committed in order to enjoy in the future, the answer will be no.
Subsidy is draining Nigeria and Nigerians, but Asiwaju only used Executive order without considering the Nigerians he's presiding over.

suggest ways people can survive or keep quiet. When it get to a point where people can no longer afford cheapest of food, Then the country will be set on fire. Means of transporting food has to be cheap to maintain the current price else what will befall this country is better not imagined

The truth is that - why is everyone on Petroleum- Fuel Subsidies? Why?
We are very Lazy and the govt have made everyone so lazy that other Sectors - Agric-,Mining, Manufacturing, Cotton, Science and Technology, Production etc have been forgotten and ignored.
President Tinubu, you need to move Nigeria beyond the present One Product Nation!

Cost of production and transportation doesn't affect most of the goods in the market, it does slightly at the end of distribution.

Removal of fuel subsidy is not the problem but Nigerians don't trust Tinubu and his cabals. The gains from the subsidy will still be looted by Tinubu and his cabals, after all, someone who rigged the election can do anything to recover all the money he spent in lobbying his supporters and those who did the dirty job for him.

A thief is a thief, if you like wear am wrapper and change his name and position.

If it was Obi that removed the subsidy, Nigerians will be sure the subsidy money will used judiciously and the positive impact will be felt by an average man on the streets in the time being.

Tinubu doesn't need to wait for the presence NLC leaders because for 8- yrs of Buhari regime, Labour Voice went into Voicemail.
Very Shameful indeed!

So.govermemt should force an industry to operate at a loss?

Right.

You did not answer my question? Should government seize peoples lands and resources and then complain that it cannot use the resources to benefit the owners of the resources? If government says they want to operate capitalism, why not hand over peoples resources to them and let them sell it at whatever price that suit them, and then pay taxes on them?

As a government, is it responsible to allow your citizens to be exploited by a thieving oil cabal?

Which thieving oil cabal exactly? I think too often we like to cloud simple issues by linking then to an unseen cabal. Last I heard is that NNPC has been the only importer of petrol in the Buhari regime. The cabal of various importers was in the Jonathan/Diezani era.

Cabal is why petrol subsidy isn't working
Generator cabal is why we don't have electricity.

Meanwhile in those two sectors, the real issue is we are selling product below the cost of production. In other sectors where there is zero government intervention ND prices are set based on market dynamics like GSM, hotels, event center, diesel, airlines, clothes etc why is there no cabal there?

We buy petrol at say N450 per litre then we come and sell at N185per litre, making huge losses on purpose. Now it might actually be good if we were spending this from our actual earning, but no, we actually borrow to even do this. That's how precarious our finances are as a country.
Yes there is misappropriation of funds in this country, but also how many people pay proper taxes. I can bet you 90% of people on this forum have some hidden income they don't pay any tax on.

Is an insult for you to be asking for any point as if you do not live in Nigeria and follow news

The FG was suppose to stop the payment of subsidy after the PIB became a law. Is illegal for the FG to pay for subsidy because is not recognize by our law.

Any again, the Government have been borrowing money to pay for subsidy, we can't continue like this
