JILF: The corruption in the sector would have made petrol expensive. Corruption. Is the problem as marketers lie about the quantity of petrol they import and get paid more subsidy than they deserve. Now instead of trying to kill the corruption in the industry wile we build a refinery, they want to suffer the masses 2 Likes |

Maybe we would have been a better nation. The love of money from oil is the root of oil looting in Nigeria. If there was no much money to loot maybe people like Tinubu and Atiku wouldn't have so much interest in the presidency. People tend to spend wiser when they are spending from a limited amount of money than when there's abundance of it. 1 Like |

Good question . If Nigeria was not an oil producer(God forbid). Nigeria will automatically be a refined products importer heavily indedbted to imf,wb and china for access to dollars and foreign exchange |

Maazieze:Yeah! It is a first indication .one literally just look at your neighbour and ask how do you buy. But like I said it is not as straight forward as you put it. To understand the magnitude of the question. First, imagine that Nigeria does not earn a single dollar from sales of crude oil(God forbid bad thing). It means Nigeria will need to find how to buy dollars first and this will come by loans.this is important for it to buy the refined products it needs from diesel, kerosene, petrol and aviation fuel When you calculate the volume of litres that nnpc purchases.the exchange rate will be high first. Now imagine what the exchange rate will be. Then you will understand why God love Nigeria |
