Actress Iyabo Ojo has presented proof of her tax payment in order to counter allegations suggesting she owes N18 million to the Lagos State Government. It is worth noting that she was previously accused by the Lagos State Government of failing to fulfill her tax obligations, with claims stating that she owed a substantial amount.

Taking to her Instagram account, Iyabo Ojo conducted a live session to debunk the assertions made by certain individuals questioning her tax compliance. During the live session, she showcased evidence of her tax payments and also shed light on the accusations made against her.

In response to the accusations, she expressed disbelief at the exorbitant amount of personal income tax that the Lagos State Government claimed she had not paid, questioning the basis for such a peculiar figure. Additionally, she raised the point of how much income an actress or influencer is realistically expected to generate.

Based on her account, she received a text from someone who informed her that they had heard about the issue two weeks ago. The person attributed the reason for the issue to her support for Peter Obi. Nevertheless, she responded to the message, expressing her love for the country rather than being driven by stomach infrastructure (personal gain). Additionally, she criticized her industry peers, accusing them of being confined to one location for election purposes. She mentioned that she intends to discuss this matter in more detail at a later time.

So it is also because of that 'Eastern presidential candidate' she was accused of evading N35m tax in 2019 too?

I remember the thread so well on nairaland in 2019. https://www.nairaland.com/5414190/iyabo-ojo-slammed-tax-n38

You easterners where at the forefront, lambasting her to go pay her tax and stop crying on social media. she is now supporting your candidate, and employing the same cry baby pattern you criticised her for back then, you now see nothing wrong in evading tax. Hypocrites.

In 2019. Some persons had to interfere and begged for her after she cried out and blame it on poor and slow business. Four years later this ungrateful element aligned with the opposition party, attacked the same government that forgave her sins. All because of social media validation and acting roles from eastern directors.

2019, She blamed her N35m tax default on slow business.
2023, She is blaming it on political witch hunting. Saying it is because she campaigned for Peter Obi.
Next four years , she will probably blame it on climate change.

You are making excuses for a serial defaulter.

You need to create a fresh thread for this so that it can be pushed to the front page.

It will educate many ignorant and mischievous people
