When you live in a country amongst people that are content being taken for a ride time and time again you begin to question your own citizenship. It is just sickening.

The other day the former Minister of Finance reminded us about how a shadowy group of people kidnapped her mother to blackmail her to pay (obviously fraudulent) subsidies. You will have thought this is enough to get the DSS on their trail and you will have expected that by now someone or some people will be in jail.

But a decade after no one knows these people, the very people she paid trillions of naira over the course of her tenure. Same thing the past government, no one knows who these subsidy thieves are, even after trillions have been mismanaged.. And now that subsidies are allegedly over no one will clean up the books and these shadowy folks will retire with their loot.

Nigerians are just lazy to facts, unable to seek details and suffer because they cannot dig into the workings of their government. They just sit and hope serial felons will rule them well, hope that the goats will keep the yam barns while they play around.
