It actually took a man with far less compassion than President Goodluck Jonathan to do it.
The removal was first introduced by GEJ, but he couldn’t pull it off because he just cannot bear to see people suffer.

Different countries calls it different names but there is a standard for naming it, they are all fuels (Fuel can be Solid e.g Firewood, paper , trash ,cloths etc , Liquid e.g Petrol PMS, Kerosene DPK , Diesel AGO etc and Gas e.g LPG cooking Gas , Methane gas etc)...and so 90% plus of our natural gas contains Methane gas, main reason natural gas is called Methane gas(it contains most constituents by percentage) , LPG(Liquified Petroleum Gas) is the cooking gas (containing butane and propane)...the best form to transport methane gas is through pipelines , we have lines running to Ghana and to other west Africa countries from Nigeria and currently working on AKK, running through Ajaokuta -Kaduna- Kano heading to Algeria then to Morocco. So to cut cost sometimes you don't run pipe from one end to supply just one customer at another far end except there are many interested customers there and so the best alternative is to compress the gas into a cylinder and transport to that customer, reason we call it Compressed Natural Gas CNG... Cooking gas are not used to run vehicles

You are wrong there is LPG power cars aka cooking gas and CNG powered cars they both have there advantages and disadvantage it’s cheaper to fill a CNG but it initial set up is costlier than LPG besides CNG has a heaveir and bulky tank taking most of the boot space cos of the nature of the gas which has to be compressed while LPG use a typical less bulky tank and takes less truck space lastly CNG produces the least km/g while LNG has 10 percent more than CNG

We have three types of Gas for different purpose.

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is mainly propane and butane alone or in mixtures in liquid form under pressure. Liquid natural gas LNG fuel is produced from crude oil refining and natural gas processing. CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is natural gas stored at high pressure.

Naturally LNG is more expensive than CNG and thats why CNG can go for 100 Naira per Kg while LNG goes for 650 per Kg
