How The Anointing Multiplied The Church by ocnovakmichael(m): 3:08pm On Jun 12, 2023
An excerpt from my new book: Breakthrough Corporate Anointing

The anointing multiply the church through signs and wonders, and by the preaching of the word.
John 4:48
48. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

A myriad of people became believers of Christ not necessarily because they heard the word, but because they saw signs and wonders. God in his infinite mercy, sometimes, will stoop down to our own logical reasoning just to appeal to our senses. In the above scripture, the Lord Jesus said, except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The first time Jesus appeared in Galilee he attended a wedding where he turned water into wine; and after he had done that, the Bible said, his disciples believed on him.
Indeed, Jesus’ disciples believed because they saw signs and wonders. Nevertheless, the second time Jesus appeared in Galilee, a noble man whose son was sick, besought him that he would come down and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. This noble man, perhaps, had heard how Jesus turned water into wine at his first visit to Galilee, and he insisted that Jesus come down to his house and do the same for his son who was at the brink of death.
At that time, Jesus said to the noble man, “Go thy way, thy son liveth.” Put slightly differently, your son will live and not die. When the noble man got home, he saw his son in good shape: the fever had left the boy. And the Bible said, the noble man himself believed, and his whole house.
One of the signs Jesus said shall follow believers is speaking in other tongues. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17). The Bible said, tongues are for a sign and a wonder to the unbelievers so that they might hear the word of God in their own language, spoken by men who are not of their own tongue. “Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not…” (1 Corinthians 14:22).
On the day of Pentecost, the Gentiles heard Jesus’ disciples speak in their own native languages and they believed.
Act 2:1-8;41
1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[b]5. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language.
7. And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?
8. And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
41. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Tongues, a sign, spoken by Jesus’ disciples, turned about three thousand souls to Christ in one day. There is no telling how many unbelievers would join the church when the whole church begins to speak with other tongues.
Notwithstanding, in Act chapter two verse nineteen scripture says: “And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.”
I remember reading that portion of scripture and the Spirit impressed in my heart to pray along that line. So I said: “Heavenly Father, in the name of your holy Child Jesus, send forth your Spirit upon your sons and your daughters that they may speak your word boldly. And show wonders in the heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath, that many might believe and be saved.”
You see, many will not believe except they see signs and wonders. There was a story of an unbeliever who was walking by a church in a street in the United States. And suddenly he looked up and noticed a ball of fire moving in the air towards the church. He followed the ball of fire and it led him into the church. The man was so afraid because he had never been inside of a church his entire life.
When he entered that church, the Pastor was preaching about being born again, and the man interrupted the Pastor’s preaching and began describing that he saw a ball of fire entering the church and he followed it. He said he believed that God led him into the church to be born again; and the Pastor prayed with him and he gave his life to Christ and was baptized.
The story of that man should not astound us because God had already said, “And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath…” When Saul was on his way to Damascus to arrest the followers of Christ, the Bible said, suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
On the other hand, preaching the word has a multiplier effect: it increases the number of believers. You see, the word could be likened to a green grass and sheep would move to and fro the earth to graze at where the grass is green.
In second Timothy chapter four verse two, Paul commanded Timothy, a young minister, to preach the word. If you listen to what many are preaching today in our churches, you will instantly perceive that they are not preaching the word. Their words have no substance, not rooted in the Spirit: they preach philosophy, tradition of men, and empty deceit. Their preaching push men away from God instead of to bring them closer. Scripture says: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the word, and not after Christ”
On the day of Pentecost, Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, took his texts from the books of the prophet Joel and Psalms. And after he had exhorted the people by the word, the Bible says, “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls” (Acts 2:41).
The church will multiply when ministers, filled with the Holy Ghost, preach the word. The sheep would come to graze on the pasture, so to speak. Dr. Kenneth E Hagin said, after being baptized in the Holy Spirit, he entered into a greater dimension of the power of God, and the anointing to preach increased.
He said he was impressed in the spirit not to tell anyone of his being baptized in the Spirit. However, it wasn’t 30 days until people started asking him, “What happened to you?” And he would ask them, “What do you mean, what happened to me?” And they will say, “Well, you’re different,” and “When you preach now, it almost knocks us off the seats.”
Now in that church which Hagin was pastoring is one that doesn’t talk about being baptized in the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues. But when they discovered he had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, ninety-three percent of them received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the other seven percent never left the church. Instead of the church decreasing in number, they increased in number and soaked in, like a sponge, every preaching from Hagin. “Then had the churches rest throughtout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied” (Acts 9:31).
