David Malpass is the Immediate past president of The World Bank Group. He is a leading Wall Street economist. A known advocate of development and Growth.

He tweeted this:
Glad to see @officialABAT taking concrete steps to scrap Nigeria’s harmful government subsidies and multiple exchange rates. These are important steps toward currency stability, lower inflation, and reduced corruption in Africa’s most populous country.

In two weeks of his presidency, all President Tinubu policies have impacted on the disposable income of Nigerians: fuel subsidy removal without palliatives, increase in electricity tariffs, imposition of VAT on imported diesel when refineries not working is the fault of government, and increase in the cost higher education. All these are coming in quick succession to create funds for government to function effectively, which is not bad.

However, NOW, we desperately need something on the 'credit' side of the family 'balance sheet'. It is time for Tinubu to roll out his policies towards cushioning the immediate effects of these policies, increasing minimum wage, reviving the refineries, revitalizing the economy, creating job opportunities, and boosting entrepreneurship/SMEs, etc. Things that make many millions of people to earn income to meet needs created by reforms as well as pay tax. It's time to remember the people. We need something on the credit side. We are SUFFOCATING!

Looking increasingly like let the poor breath so I can suffocate them myself. grin

Yes, those steps are commendable and bold. However, a need exists to roll out measures to cushion the harsh effects of PMS subsidy removal. I learnt the World Bank gave them funds for that. I hope they haven't looted the money as usual.

By the way, I don't agree that those steps will lower inflation. It will only worsen inflation as we will definitely see in the coming months. Get ready, people, because it's going to be a bumpy ride ahead!

I will only commend him when the reforms translate to reduced Cost of Living or improved Standard of Living for the average Nigerian.

If subsidy removal comes with increased in salaries and minimum wages, no strike in our universities, building of projects and infrastructures. I will be very proud of this government.
But I really wish Nigeria govt can start supplying fuel at official rate to neighboring countries. This will truly make Nigeria the giant of Africa they do call us and also strengthen our currency

Well his policies are commendable. I just want to see a more deliberate position and actions against corruption and corrupt politicians . Plus cutting cost of governance.
Reduce the number of aides per politician
Reduce salary and allowances of all politicians across the tiers of government.
Make politicial office an internship not a full time job so they earn allowances not salary.
Veto a constitution amendment removing all clauses of immunity for all political office holders. .
Veto laws enforcing effecting judicial system where no accused persons case should delay beyond 30 days and sentencing must be no longer than 30 days plus no court case can be adjourned more than twice
Sign into law the whistle blower act and witness protection act.
Sign into law death Penalty for the following crimes, cultism conviction of murder or robbery
Corruption
Internet fraud (yahoo)
Any form of looting or stealing public funds
Child molestation
Rape
Armed robbery
And cultism

Build more prisons. If ASIWAJU can do these then he will be forever cemented in history as the greatest African president and greatest Nigerian president ever.

Because once these are done, just sit back and automatically watch the system weed itself of all corrupt persons and politicians

Good leadership is not rocket science, all it takes is the guts to do the right thing

The fake bishop story will never be true no matter how many times you repeat it.

Low Budget pastors? Yes

Unpopular clergymen? Yes

Fake bishops? No

There are more than 100000 churches in Nigeria and most of them have widely unknown pastors.

Because they weren't Oyedepo or Adeboye doesn't mean that they're fake.

Good.
Business tycoons, world leaders, directors of industries, financial experts, global figures and stakeholders around the world are appreciating Bola Tinubu for his pragmatism since he became President while children of hate down here at home have not seen anything good about his decisions so far because they have been blinded by their hatred.
