So much talk with no substance, its like people from SW region of the country likes talking and talking to convince you that your suffering is justified....

The half imbe below me spent 8 years using this platform to do sycophancy for Buhari and calling him 'darling daddy' he has moved to Buhari and I have observed that Tinubu supporters on this platform don't even want him in their camp and he has been doing Attaché By Force.

That "half imbe" that you mentioned caught my attention. The guy has successfully made himself a nuisance on this platform. Despite how glaring it was that the past president was a complete failure personified, the "imbe" kept calling him his darling daddy and hailing all his failure. He must certainly be an "imbe" truly.

Thanks, I already know all that.

There is some discussion about selling to Dangote in naira....the naira equivalent of what the international price of crude oil is at that time.

It won't lead to a reduction in fuel prices, and I don't expect it to. After all, it is business. People have to make money (the last time price controls across the board were tried...in former communist countries...they all collapsed, or became capitalist. North Korea is the only country where price controls are a way of life, and the black market there thrives. People love to make money...rule no 1 of human beings)

And fuel costs money to produce......expecting cheap fuel is like me dreaming that I married the last 5 winners of Miss Universe last week. Refining, transporting, etc, e dey cost money well well.

Even with the subsidy, we were still paying high prices. In the form of loans and more loans.

Crude will not be sold to Dangote in naira. That is inverse economics. Nigeria needs the fx to balance its trade

Dangote does not need the naira either, he is operating in a global industry traded in USD. His loans are in USD. He also will not be selling refined products only to Nigeria

Nigerians need to manage their expectations

Yeah, won't be surprised if crude is sold to Dangote in dollars (when our gas companies are selling to GENCOS in dollars, even the Nigeria Gas company of all entities).

At the end, things cost money, even petrol. Ghana and Niger should by rights be subsidsing fuel...but they do not. As a result they have working refineries.

In 2012 , when then president Goodluck removed this same subsidy, you lots and even the current APc president were against the move... calling it anti people , and killing of Nigerians..

You people even carried a mock coffin for him in ojota..
Nigeria wasn't the poverty capital of the world then, and the naira was still breathing against the dollar..

But today.. Because your 'son' is in power and has done the same thing..
Mr Fadoju writing from Lagos is singing a new song..

hypocrites everywhere

you won't see Mr Fadoju write about using 10billion to furnish the lavish lifestyle of the new Nass members..

neither will you see him write about the FG increasing salaries of politicians by 110%...

We are BATist, we believe in him 200%, we will not protest against him. This is the time for you Goatluck and Giringori Obituary’s men to protest. You cannot fail as government in power and also fail as opposition. That will mean you are not qualified to be human beings. Big headed idiot speaking plenty grammar without saying anything.

Fuel price has almost tripled, leading to a commensurate rise in cost of living for the common man and middle classes, without any increase in their wages and income, or in their quality of life. That's the not-so-simple matter on ground.

Most already poor people are being pushed into abject poverty and misery. And it is not even a gradual push. It is an abrupt, rude, insensitive, push with intent to kill. All your useless grammar doesn't explain how these people who happen to be the majority of Nigerians would benefit.

And lest we forget

1. 7.5% VAT on diesel
2. Fuel subsidy removed
3. Electricity tariff hiked
4. University tuition increased to 400K+
5. Naira devalued
6. Same old politicians lined up to continue the looting

While
7. FG Votes ₦24 Billion For 10th NASS Members’ Accommodation
8. Elected Politicians, Judges Set To Get 114% Salary Raise

Anybody still in doubt should have all their doubts cleared at this time. All of the policies so far is to make more money available for looting ….. the Nigerian masses are not part of the plan. Tinubu’s game is to ensure the poor masses subsidize the political class. This is his style of political leadership.

The only solution is Nigerians must shun tribalism and religion and hold these politicians responsible. Or else we will all die.

You want this government to keep continuing policies that bankrupted the country, that has made the country so indebted that it uses all revenue to service its debt? You want policies that made the country the poverty capital of the world? Buhari's interference in setting the exchange rate was the primary reason why the economy did so badly during the Buhari years. If he had simply followed the exchange rate system he inherited when he assumed office, people would be singing his praises today.

Tinubu is simply redressing that error. Already, the stock market is responding positively to economic reforms and there has been foreign praise. This isn't even up to 4 weeks. When he appoints ministers, I am sure there'd be more positive changes by then

Without the removal of the fuel subsidy, the Naira would crash to like 1500 within 3 years if not worse as it was costing the government too much.

I think the government would like to increase salaries. An increase of 100% won't be bad but when you consider that the civil service is bloated and can manage on only 50% of its labour force, it puts pay rise into proper perspective.

Hmm

I don't know about how government would save money. The fact is, we are not making enough money. Subsidy savings , if they exist (because we still have to pay off debts) are lipstick on a pig...and lipsitick on a pig does not make it a beautiful woman, or a handsome man, or a nice looking......pig.

But subsidy spending was no longer sustainable. That is true. The more the cost of production rises, so also does the cost of subsidy.

Below is an image showing how this works. The time subsidy costs fell was when fuel prices were raised by the government...which reduced subsidy costs. But because government cannot cut production costs....subsidy costs rose again....and again...until government had to raise prices to reduce subsidy.
y can't they reduce d cost of governance. Is that too hard to do

But suddenly, you are in power ( though temporary because joy is coming) all of you are supporting the removal of fuel subsidy.

Even if tinubu wanted to keep subsidy now, we just don't have the money. That's why he and most of the candidates supported subsidy removal. Obi inclusive

Yes he was wrong in 2012, and so were most Nigerians. Most people supported subsidy retention then. They did not know that we had spent 3 times in 2011 what we spent in 2010 on subsidy.

Shouldn't measures to mitigate the effect have come before the removal of subsidy?? Your new darling daddy didn't do well here
post=123946910:
Anything to move our Darling country forward is all we want at .

It is important to note that the process of subsidy removal will be accompanied by measures to mitigate the impact on the most vulnerable segments of society.
These will take the form of targeted cash transfers, investment in social welfare programs, and the promotion of renewable energy that can help alleviate the burden and create a more equitable transition.

Such moves are already underway; the enhancement of the local refining capacity will reduce reliance on imported petroleum products and mitigate the impact of fluctuating global oil prices.

Slow and steady we will get to the nations of our dreams , whether the evil ones like it or not.

Nigeria will be great in our lifetime.
God bless all sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians.
