Shettima "Vice President @KashimSM stressed that the Federal Government is “committed to eradicating variant polio virus by the end of the year ensuring that every Nigerian child is covered in the routine immunization campaign"

Here, we go again! When a Nigerian government official speaks, it makes me have headache. During the 2015 presidential campaign in Nigeria, former president, Mr. Buhari promised among other things to end corruption before corruption killed Nigeria, make N1 =$1, destroy Boko Haram, create 20 million jobs. Which of those promises did Buhari achieve after 8 years in office? The short answer is none. So, don't believe Nigerian politicians, and especially those from the north--like Shettima. He is a liar. In 2014 when Shettima was the governor of Borno state, and 200 schools were kidnapped by Boko Haram, Gov. Shettima was the first to announce to the whole world about knowing where the kidnapped girls were. why? Many reports later showed Shettima ordered the kidnapping of those school girls to stop re-election of president Jonathan Goodluck. And he succeeded. That is why you cannot trust Kashim Shettima--he is terrorist.

God bless Bill Gates for all his philanthropic efforts towards improving the welfare of poor Nigerian masses.

The Federal Government should note however that any funds invested into our health sector without first overhauling the leadership hierarchy of all our health institutions will amount to waste of scarce resources.

Over the years, our political leaders have failed to think outside the box and ensuring that only seasoned administrators get appointed into headship of our health institutions from the ministers to the lowest leadership cadre in the sector. Instead, they've allowed physicians through NMA to run the health sector aground, hence our health sector has continually performed abysmally low.

Check out other countries with a working healthcare system and you'll discover that competent non-physician administrators are the ones managing their health sector! But here we continue to repeat the same mistake every year while expecting a different result. It doesn't work that way!!!

I hope the present administration would be wise enough to do things differently this time. Time will tell
