The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off the one-week warning strike action with effect from yesterday(2nd of october 2011) in order to allow the Federal Government of Nigeria implement the agreement with ASUU in 2009 on four-point issues. Announcing the suspension before newsmen on Friday, ASUU president, Professor Ukachukwu Awazie called on all academic staff in Nigerian Universities to resume full academic activities from Tuesday in their various universities by October 3, He also added that all members commencing work should not be an excuse for lethargy and foot-dragging on the of government in complying the issues already agreed on in 2009 http://universitiesofnigeria.com/ASUU-calls-off-strike/ |
