Senatorch Group Partners Anambra NYCN Ladies To Initiate 'Pad A Girl' Program For Community Schools In Anambra.

As part of sensitization and awareness campaign, Senatorch Group has partnered with the Anambra State Chapter of NYCN Ladies to promote good menstrual hygiene for girls in secondary school in Anambra.

The campaign which began with an sensitization outreach covered three communities schools. This includes Community Secondary School Mgbakwu, Community Secondary School Awgbu and Premier Girls Secondary School Mkpologu respectively.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice President, Senatorch Group Ltd Awka, Mrs. Grace Kosisochukwu Amaze expressed her satisfaction to be opportuned to return back to the society stating that it gives her exceptional satisfaction to see that girls are properly trained and catered for.

According to her, besides construction and other major infractural projects her group is known for, it is also part of their cooperate social responsibility to engage on social-cultural and human capital development programs to help build a responsible society she said.

She went further to educate the girls on the importance of understanding the menstrual cycle and how best to handle emergency situations by taking special care of their body during this period. She advised the girls to put up good behavior and avoid and friendship that will jeopardize their bright future.

Also speaking, Anambra NYCN Director In charge of Gender and Girl Empowerment, Mrs. Nwankwo Chidiogo lamented the poor state of menstrual hygiene amongst some girls. She sadly noted that the nonchalant attitude has subjected many to public embarrassment, causing loss of confidence. She advised the girls to speak out in time when faced with any defaming health challenges to avoid escalation.

Appreciating, the principal, community secondary school awgu, Rev. Sister StellaMaris Magrate in her speech, thanked the group for the magnanimity and support and pray that God will continue to empower and sustain them to do more. her counter from Premier Girls Secondary School Mkpologu. Advised parents, guardians and school teachers to pay close attention to their wards to curb the risk of other related health issues.

In her remarks, NYCN Treasurer, Mrs. Chinaza Anekwe appreciated the school management for the opportunity to talk to the girls, stating that the importance can not be overemphasized.

The Anambra NYCN Deputy Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Ifedigbo, Public Relation Officer, Comrade Ifeanyi Ifedigbo and Social Secretary, Miss Azor Onyinye was also present at the campaign.

Highlights of the event featured distribution of sanitary pads, speech presentation and commendations.
