Hon. Uzoh Tochukwu Okorie, the newly appointed Commissioner for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Ebonyi State, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Governor of the state, for the opportunity to serve and outlined his vision for the digitization of the Ebonyi economy. In his remarks at the reception venue following his inauguration at the Exco Chamber in the new Government House, Abakaliki, Okorie emphasized the crucial role of a digital economy in achieving sustainable development.

Highlighting the global trend towards sustainable development through technological innovation, Commissioner Okorie pledged to make the digital economy the catalyst for progress in Ebonyi State. He stated that his ministry would spearhead the implementation of the "Ebonyi State Strategic Vision For Digital Economy," a comprehensive plan aimed at increasing the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and creating a robust digital infrastructure to support education and training initiatives.

Recognizing the need to reform the existing education system, which heavily relies on traditional classroom learning, Okorie stressed the importance of integrating e-learning processes. He envisioned a state where digital technologies empower students and educators, allowing for a more inclusive and accessible education system. By leveraging technology, the Commissioner aims to bridge the educational gap and provide opportunities for all residents of Ebonyi State.
During his speech, Okorie expressed his gratitude to the people of Ebonyi State for their unwavering support for the new government. He called upon them to continue supporting the administration led by Chief Francis Nwifuru, emphasizing that their collective efforts were crucial to the prosperity of the state.

Furthermore, the Commissioner extended his appreciation to the individuals who had traveled from various locations, as well as his friends, family members, and well-wishers. He humbly requested their continued prayers for his success in this new role.

As Hon. Uzoh Tochukwu Okorie assumes his responsibilities as the Commissioner for ICT, the people of Ebonyi State eagerly anticipate the positive changes and advancements that will come with the digitization of the economy. With a strong focus on sustainable development, enhanced ICT infrastructure, and the promotion of innovation, Okorie's vision aligns with the global movement towards a technology-driven future, and it is hoped that his efforts will lead to significant progress for the state.
