- a failed manoeuvre from the captain can sink this ship
- an underwater mine (or torpedo from a submarine) can sink that ship
- a tsunami can sink that ship
- a mad person onboard (ready/willing to die) can sink that ship

BTW if this ship was really "unsinkable" then they wouldnt waste money on the VARIOUS LIFEBOATS AND INFLATABLE LIFE RAFTS onboards, would they?!

There can be so many odds to being near perfect when it comes to new crafts and a wise person will think it through before getting involved.

My days as harbor pilot thought me never to mess with new crafts thinking I got it all under control.

Now, I hardly go near new crafts until I'm sure they have paid their dues.

bro, no matter the safety measure taken to ensure a ship will be safe on water, there is NO SUCH THING as an unsinkable ship. human error, banditry, war etc can easily sink ANY SHIP CREATED ON EARTH. just because they spent extensive amount to make sure it is safe on water, doesnt mean it cannot go down.

no responsible ship builder would make that claim, especially when we know that most of ship sinking around the world is down to human error!

calm down and read to understand. I did not say man shouldn't aim high, I implied that man should recognise his limits even despite genius, cos guess what, the last person who said a ship was unsinkable, perished with it on the maiden voyage by just one iceberg. Let's be humble, is the lesson, and not say absolute statements like what the poster said, even though I have a hunch he was sarcastically joking, and I was satirically responding light heartedly just incase he wasn't.

@ topic .... this ship is soooo enormous! ... a small mobile town with all the amenities. I wonder how many workers... they probably have a floor for themselves. No doubt ....this Goliath is most definitely unsinkable ......... ...... if it remains in shallow waters. It will he foolish for someone to say it's unsinkable when there can be sooo many hazards in the open seas .... icebergs being just one that brought down the Titanic.
