Enugu Govt To Shut Down Schools, Markets That Observe 1-week Sit-at-home Order by nairalandkachy1: 10:50am On Jul 04, 2023
*ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT*

*PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*

*Enugu Government will shut down schools, markets that observe the illegal one week sit-at-home order*

The attention of the Enugu State Government has been drawn to reports on social media this Tuesday morning that proprietors of private schools in the state are sending messages to their pupils and students to the effect that they should not come to school from today on account of the illegal one week sit-at-home order allegedly declared by faceless non-state actors in the state.

The Enugu State Government is alarmed and dismayed by this development and hereby warns that any school that fails to open and function normally from today will have its license revoked immediately.

The Enugu State Government also extends the same warning to market unions and shop owners in the state. All markets and shops in the various markets must be open to customers from today or be shut down indefinitely.

Government reiterates its ban on any form of illegal sit-at-home in all parts of the state, as it is evil and antithetical to all values we hold dear as a people, such as the Igbo spirit of industry, hardwork, creativity and productivity.

The general public is urged to go about their normal daily activities as adequate security measures have been put in place to protect lives and property.

Government will no longer sit by and watch faceless groups and misguided individuals issue illegal orders, dictating to us how to lead our lives, when to go to work or market and when our children go to school, while they ply their trade and their children go to school. This is no longer acceptable and must be confronted and defeated with every power and resources at our disposal.

The State Government also warns that it will deploy the full instrumentality of the law such as the Cybercrime Act 2015 to go after and prosecute anybody, individuals, groups and organisations intentionally encouraging the illegal sit-at-home order, instilling fear on residents, raising false alarm to disturb public peace, etc, through fake news sharing and propagation of falsehood connected with the illegal sit-at-home order on social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc. This, however, is by no means, depriving citizens freedom of speech and information as enshrined in the constitution.

Signed.
Professor Chidiebere Onyia
Secretary to the State Government

interesting!!

One week sit at home and all the Eastern politicians and celebrities are quite! Except ifenayi Uba and Enugu state governor...

Like Adults who claim to be the most smartest black people In the world were being forced to stay at home for one good week in this current economic situation where most people in that region are currently struggling to survive!

People are getting killed on daily basis from that same region but Everywhere is silent, nobody wants to criticize ESN Gunmen!

The killings in the East is highly highly underreported. I have seen many Posts on nairaland political section reporting unnecessary killings In the East but most of those news don't make it to the front page of Nairaland!

Is it only insecurity in the north that deserve to be talked about? Or is northern lives more important than the lives of Easterners?

Or is it that they don't want Ipob/ESN to be seen as bad players to be criticized by Nigerians?

Like why are people like Obi,Ezekwesili, Igbo celebrities and influencers not speaking about the killing of Igbos, security personnels and other ethnicities in the East?

Why do they only criticize and talk about ills of other region but have nothing to say about what is happening in their region?

Now they're everywhere defending a girl whom her result was forged and manipulated...

The Education system in the east should be probed and investigated, miracle centre is not only restricted to WAEC and NECO, they're now doing jamb miracle centres!

Good. I've been wondering why the lily-livered Simon Ekpa would be in Finland and be controlling his entire region. Why are they obeying his Orders, who is he? And why has he not been deported back to Nigeria and Jailed? A lot of lives have already been lost as a result of this nonsense. Igbos are crying out for Marginalization, yet remain disunited and destroying their own regions.

If the proprietors open the school, will that make the parents allow the children to go to school.

Some of these governors think it's by making pronouncements or issuing threats.

Declare Marshall law across the SE and install a Military administrator over them.

Dusk to dawn curfew .

Banning of every and all gatherings be it burial ceremonies , weddings and what have you.

Derecognise all traditional stools .

Enforce a military security network in all states of the SE.

Every interstate and intra state movement to and within the SE must have military clearance approval

That's the only solution.

The announcement is a useless announcement.
Simon Ekperima has ordered 1 week sit at home many times but no state complied.

Even the monday sit at home is not observed by all cities in southeast.

The government should stop issuing threats to the public. They should organize a hit squad to fly to Finland and take out that Ekperima, dump his ashes in the ocean.

Obasanjo did declare Marshall law in Plateau and suspended the constitution and the governor owing to the protracted ethno religious crisis that plagued the state.

GEJ also considered such action in the NE when BH nonesense started but was too chicken shit to go through it.

And how did Ojukwu run his biafra for 3ys if not under absolute tyranny

How did the Aro cannibal cult hold sway for generations if not through unbridled terrorism and resigned cowardice from your ancestors.

The Ibo can only be administered via fiat and absolute tyranny.

Well, I am not the one that is being dragged to either sit at home and risk their business shuttered by the govt or risk going out and face IPOB fugitive army gunning me down.

See the very pathetic state of existence you have in your yeast and all you can do is talk trash to me.

Well, the only reason I am concerned is that I don't want your madness to spread any where outside your dead region.

From what we are seeing in the SE , there exist a more powerful parallel govt in place that has usurped power from the constitutional authority.

This same IPOB is dragging monopoly of violence from the state in enforcing their own diktats on the masses.

This alone shows the constitutional civil authority had failed and the only solution is to declare a state of emergency and from there roll out marshal authority and laws.
