Counsel to INEC, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), announced the conclusion of its case against LP on Tuesday after presenting the commission’s sole witness.

At the court session on Tuesday, Lawrence Bayode, an information technology practitioner, was led in evidence by Abubakar Mahmoud, INEC counsel.

Before the witness was called, INEC tendered some documents which were admitted and marked as exhibits.

During cross-examination, Bayode said blurred documents downloaded from the result viewing portal do not affect the polling unit results recorded in forms EC8As.

He said photographic copies of forms EC8A captured with the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) and transmitted to IReV, are not relevant for the collation of results.

The witness also told the court that the glitch recorded during the presidential poll did not affect the credibility of election results.

He said only physical results (forms EC8As) are used for collating final election results. The report, which was critical of INEC’s conduct of the disputed election, was admitted as an exhibit in the case filed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the poll.

Mr Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched victory in the polls, defeating Atiku, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who came third, and 15 other candidates in the race.

But both opposition candidates filed separate petitions at the court to challenge the outcome of the disputed 25 February election, citing widespread electoral malpractices, among other issues.

Earlier, PREMIUM TIMES reported how the EU Observers report, brought to court by Atiku’s legal team on Monday, criticised the 2023 general elections. It said the election fell short of INEC’s promise to deliver transparent and credible polls.

He and two other INEC witnesses had absconded on Monday but only him summoned courage and later came back on Tuesday to testify against Obi. He was reluctant to answer questions from Obi's lawyer and whenever he manages to answer question, he contradict himself.

Most born again Christians don’t swear to any oath. That’s why there is an option to affirm for people whose religious beliefs don’t support swearing.

RCCG is quickly turning into a criminal organisation like INEC. Imagine a so-called church that makes lawyers pastors (eg Yemi Osinbajo) and people married to islamic husbands pastors (eg Remi Tinubu). Who doesn't know how much lawyers lie to feed or how the Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers?

As a Catholic, I like a number of Pentecostal churches chiefly because of their founders who have in-depth knowledge of the Bible and preach well. Example, David Ibiyeomie, Joshua Selman, Kingsley Okonkwo, Matthew Ashimolowo, etc.

Unfortunately, the few times I listened to Enoch Adeboye, he was just telling stories upon stories. Understanding that Nigeria is a country where a lot of people lack direction, it doesn't come as a surprise why that church has a lot of members and branches.
