Osun Assembly Repeals State Anthem, Crest, Flag Law by nairalandkachy1: 10:44am On Jul 12, 2023
At Plenary yesterday, the Osun State House of Assembly repealed the Osun State Anthem, Crest and Flag Law 2012, in compliance with the Judgement of a Federal High Court dated 14th December, 2017, on a matter instituted by Hon. Kanmi Ajibola representing Oriade State Constituency.

Understanding however, that there may be some aspects of the law that are appropriate, the House agreed that all corrections made on Osun State Anthem, Crest and Flag Law 2012 form part of the Bill for Osun State Anthem, Crest and Flag Bill 2023, sponsored by the Majority Leader.

In essence, what the House has done, is vacate a law that had already been invalidated by a Court of competent jurisdiction, to pave way for a new law that will respect the letters and spirit of the Nigerian constitution that swore to abide by.

Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun
Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly.

That's okay and the right thing to do as you cannot have a country in another country. Our leaders should focus on alleviating poverty by providing jobs and encouraging investors to thrive. All these laws do no have any direct positive impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians. My two kobo

Aregbe rascal in the mud. All these were more dear to his heart than paying salaries. Same way he flew like a bird in the air in ministry of interior, no single positive mark left.

Each State in Southwest has her own Flag, logo, slogan/anthem.

Here are these ones chasing shadow, dancing to the tune of Adeleke while feigning ignorance they're obeying one Court order.

They should misbehave while it lasts because it will be reimplemented by successive OSHA.

Jokers sad

Apart me, who else have noticed that these days, so many frivolous activities are taking places in government seats??

Like a state could be burning to ashes and the attention would be on politicians fighting for power sharing formula (in their interest), or the country could be in turmoil and the president would be busy, attending summits on climate change..

Weird!!!

No problem, another administration would come tomorrow to repeal what you want to put in place now and, the back and forth continue.

Na Adeleke time.

You take care of your body right? you eat 2/3 times a day, you go for checkups and get medication when you feel symptoms of illness, you exercise from time to time and you take preventive measures to stay strong and healthy. In the same way your car needs to be cared for properly if you want it to be safe, dependable and last longer. And because your car won’t take care of itself, the onus is on you the owner to be your ‘car’s keeper’.

Much more preferable to man-eating folks who BURY their parents with tear-rubber Hummer SUVs. And they make distinction between people for whom Jesus Christ died! There's nothing like the Osu Caste idiocy anywhere in Yorubaland, for example. That's just because we know that "In Christ there's no East or West - no North or South." To think that these folks swear by the name of the Pope every morning at Mass!
