They have made us believe many Nigerians are poor because of bad government or corruption... That's one of the worst human programing of lies in the world. Yes corruption is one of the reasons, but it's not the main reason... The main reason why Nigerians are Soo poor is because Nigerians render the services for peanuts... Those working are taking peanuts, small money for their hard work. Same jobs that make people poor here is what people do and earn real money is overseas... We Nigerians don't have any value for the services we render, we render our services almost free and then we die in poverty... How can a graduate accept 20k for teaching job? He/she will end up dieing in poverty, but he/she doesn't care, because we have been trained to accept Poverty and also wait on the government to do magic. The rich on the other have great value for thier services and they bill accordingly for it... Senators earn over 30 million per month doing little or almost nothing.. Let's be wise. 8 Likes |

No body should accept salaries that can't change your life for any work.. Why will a house girl accept 10,000 Nara per month, I wish those ladies know how much they pay house maids in overseas? Any body that can't afford your services shud Bleep off.. House maids must charge a minimum of 100k per month... If you take below that you will die in poverty.. Be wise. 6 Likes |

Graduates pls stop accepting 20 for home lesson and 30 k for teaching work.. People before you have done this work and then no achieve anything for life till today.. It's partly the government's fault. If we had a working country, nobody would pay workers below the minimum wage. It's even funny that the minimum wage is even peanut. Given today's economic reality, minimum wage shouldn't be less than N100k. I think we should change our personal income tax laws so that the rich can start paying higher taxes. That's the only way Nigeria's wealth can circulate. That's what many countries do. 2 Likes |

Brick layers, plumbers and artisians na una own condition worse pass.. Abi una no know say una go die in poverty if you continue charging that small money to build house got the day.. Una go help big man build him house, still end up with zero in your account, despite your very hard, and harzardious job.. Make una add beta financial Value to una hard work... Here is the crazy part of it all.. Government will use 50 billion to construct bridges sand the workers will still be paid 30 - 50 k per month.. While the bigs boys earn billions of Naira from that same project. Even the government is exploiting them. This is injustice.. We are poor because we charge too low for our services 5 Likes |

Minimum wage wer no fit buy the bag of basmati rice were I dy chop. What a shame. Nigerians are poor because the rather jubilate with people who made them poor than fighting for the betterment of themselves. The government has seen that if you keep black man In poverty and give him peanuts from time to time, watch him execute the commands given to him by people who made them poor. We always see that during election, politicians will throw few thousands on poor people and give them order to kill themselves, and the next tin they are fighting. Poverty Illiteracy (education) and Tribalism These are the 3 major weapon used by the government. It's very sickening that people who claim to be smart are still falling foolishly for these people. you that depend on politicians to uplift you and make you and your family live like kings, you're dumb as hell for that thought. Too many poor people on nairaland who's ready to counter attack anybody that speaks positivity because they have been recruited into being paid peanuts. Will that peanut a build house and give you other fine things of life? Are you not a bitchass foool that you're hailing a man that him and his family moves on a #50m cars and above, eat good food and have sound sleep without thinking of what to eat when they wake. But you're here trekking to the campaign ground to support someone who has been keeping you in chains. It's very sad seeing some self acclaimed PhD holders reason and talk like a mad man that has no brain, infact a mad man in the street is better than them, Because a mad man can't cross the road knowing fully well a car is coming, but some self acclaimed wise ppl behaves like jubrils nama. I only pity the younger generation, they are the ones that will suffer your mess. Of course if they suffer it out of your stupidity, you too will suffer because if them no chop you self no go chop. Education is DEAD in Nigeria, just letting you know about that. LikeAking: I am sorry I don't agree with you. If you refuse to do a menial job that pays peanuts, many people are willing to do the job. Nigerians on the streets (not those faking it online) understand that the country is not getting any better. This is where government should come in and enact laws to protect the poor and weak from the exploitation of the rich. But because we have irresponsible people in government, exploitations go unnoticed. Even foreigners (especially Asians) come into this country and treat Nigerians like second-class citizens. 1 Like |

When I use to look for work, i don't even think of Nigeria. It's either US, UK, Sweden, or Canada. In this age of remote work and the Internet, I can work anywhere. But most Nigerians have limited themselves to Nigeria only. It's sad. 4 Likes |

If a graduate accepts 20k job as a teacher,that's what his or her worth is. We know job is scarce,but It's not an acceptable excuse if you spent years in the university to now become 20k teacher. Must you do white collar work because you feel it is the only thing that measures up to your graduate status? The Op didn't do mathematics in School. When you multiply the numerator and the denominator with the same number. It is called inflation and nothing will change. Purchasing power of your currency doesn't come from charging your fellow citizens higher for your services. Americans are happy and successful because they charge very well for their services.. Third world country charge pooorly for their services and raw material... Let's learn form them.. If American Carpenters were charging like Nigerian Carpenters, they would have been very poor. Oya Carpenters charge very well, it's not by force to buy forniture or build house.. Most Nigerians like managing. And since the government failed to regulate some of these things, you see the whole thing getting worse daily. Now ,the government is supposed to ensure that no employer pays below minimum wage,but reverse is the case. You will even see some state government owing salaries for months.. My guy go say shit is messed up.. The country get a long way to go .. We have not even started at all.. Thanks to the bad leaders that we keep recycling. |
