APPEAL COURT AFFIRMS AYUBA AS MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
 
...dismisses the Labour Party's Appeals.
 
The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal on Friday, July 14, 2023, dismissed an appeal filed by the Labour Party challenging the judgment of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the election of Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, Esq. (Mayor KK) as Member of the House of Representatives in Alimosho Federal Constituency in the 2023 General Election in Nigeria.
 
The Labour Party and its House of Representatives candidate, Azubuike Emmanuel Umeadi, had appealed the judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal delivered on May 17, 2023, insisting that Hon. Ayuba did not win the election.
 
The respondents are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
 
The Court, presided over by Justice F. O. OHO, dismissed the appeal in its entirety, ruling that the appeal is lacking in merit and is hereby dismissed and hereby upholding the victory of Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, Esq., as Member of the House of Representatives in Alimosho Federal Constituency.
