They buy votes from dstv subscribers through loading from dstv merchants. This dstv merchants only sell to the highest bidder. So in this case, the winner is the highest bidder and not necessarily as talented as the losers.

to sing is a talent, and to write songs is a talent. He won it as a singer, so it's now left for him to locate a good song writer to help his carrier. Not all singers are song writers. Many singers don't even write their own songs. Even the likes of mj, Celine Dion, Beyonce, and co don't usually write the songs they sing
