How can any sensible person be comparing the university admission requirement with 25% electoral spread requirement

In the case of university admission, you are required to obtain at least 5 credits including Mathematics and English in your o' level.

This simply means that no matter how many credits you garner, Mathematics and English must be part of them otherwise you are going nowhere.

In the case of election, you are required to get 25% of the votes cast in 2/3rds of the 36 states and the FCT.

FCT is assumed to be a state in this case so that, peradventure, a candidate amasses 25% in 23 states and 25% in FCT, the FCT will be counted as a state for him to become the 24th state thereby helping him meet the requirement.

Peter Obi was said to have won 12 states the in last election - 11 states and the FCT. The FCT was counted as a state for him.

This matter is easy to decide from a grammarian aspect

Now why the clause states "36 states and the FCT" is simply because it would have been grammatically and semantically wrong to say " 36 states including the FCT"

Because the FCT can not be included within the 36 states.

This clause simply translates that the winner of the election must win at least 25% of 2/3 of all the votes cast all over Nigeria in that election

Nigeria (36 states and the FCT)

You’ve cleared it all..

FCT was counted as state for Obi. But headless mob wanted FCT to carry special status for tinubu..

Well, they’ve always been a joke..

The funniest part of this case is that some do not know that same is applicable to states, that is, you must have 25% in 2/3 of LGAs in the state, with simple majority.
So you expect that the winner must also have 25% in such state capital to be declared a winner?

Why will op be wasting is time over headless mobs? Do they have brains to thinks, even those with brains among obidients don't always put it to use? They always learn from their own self made fullisness. How many of their logic in crucial matters of discussion ever worked? Don't you even see those lawyers among them who always move with emotions instead of professionalism?

Until court court start telling them to pay billion of naira or sell of their properties, they will continue to constitute nonsense because of the way the reason below benchmark for human standard. That was how they argued with everything they had on authenticity of ANAP/Bantupage report. One food must be responsible for while they use to reason below normal human standard in most cases. Buhari must have done serious underground research before he decide to build many psychiatric hospitals in biafra land. Seriously, they need it more than any other region.

Even with inability of LP to prove how it won election, his headless followers are still expecting he will win. Just don't bother wasting your time over them arguing, truth will soon outrun their lies as usual and group them in failed class they belong

Different case entirely

The constitution didn't Tinubu must win FCT all that was expected 25 percent in FCT...

Peter Obi didn't win some northern states but got 25%

Read my comment again..

FCT was treated as a state for all presidential candidate..

No where under the law did it states that you must secured 25% in any of the state!

Just have your 2/3 across Nigeria..

What the constitution says
There are two (2) conditions for determining a winner of a presidential election:

1. A presidential candidate must secure the highest number of votes cast at the election

2. He/she must secure not less than 25% of votes cast in at least two-thirds of all the States of the federation and FCT

I don't know which constitution you are quoting

Where did you guys originate from sef

You don't understand semantics

The five subjects are out of nine subjects

The five must include English and Mathematics and any other three subjects as your case may be
However you can't say 36 states including the FCT

How can 36 states include FCT

Do you realize the meaning of including

Pls learn the state and capital first
