Nigerians are ready to suffer and die so far the president is from their party, tribe or religion.

It's very supprising that some Tinubu's surpporters are still very happy with the present hardship and wanton killings going on in the country. They quite know that Obi's presidency would favour everyone yet they hate him for ethnoreligious reasons. For how long shall Nigeria continue like this?

Your beloved Obi would have been the worst.. someone that can't say something and stand by it can't rule Nigeria.

I have said it that the President should take away license to import petroleum products from so called marketers and use the Federal Government Ministries specially created Departments to handle fuel importation. Forget that useless organization called NNPCL

All those Federal Directors and Perm Secs should answer call to service and quickly assemble competent hands. DSS should start killing anybody that interferes in the process of fuel importation going forward. Too many greedy bastards are in this country called Nigeria that deserve to die.

So if Peter obi or atiku removes the subsidy, this hike in price will not surface?...we only need to be realistic in our analysis and arguements...things are hard really but it is normal principle of economics.market forces will bring prices to the normal unelastic level, what is happening to prices of diesel and gas will still happen to petrol too.

Take a step and re read what you just posted. Tell me what makes you different from a dictator? Nigeria is a Capitalist state and not a Communist enterprise. If your president was really prepared for governance, he would have made sure our refineries are working before messing up with subsidies. Well, na you tribe's man, so he can never be wrong.

I've been brainstorming on this oil sector issue for Nigeria for nearly a decade now. Truth is the past leaders didn't do much and the cabals (even within government) are complicit in making our refineries moribund and non-functional cos their men outside government are the ones doing the importation of petroleum products.

Once FG brings in the product for marketers to buy from FG in Nigeria here.. then let's see the mad marketer that will fix price to kill Nigerians.
If you know what they are appropriating to NNPC in yearly budget for turnaround maintenance of refineries for over 2 decades now, you'll cry. Money wasted, no result, nothing.

This is why he is the president. He has to do something, otherwise suffering may lead to popular revolt. Nigeria has been a cesspit of corruption, no doubt, but we need solution, whether long or short term solution. If it means getting one or two refineries working by any means and using it to drop price. By the way, what is the update with Dangote's refinery?
If FG handles importation, don't you think the same elements of corruption will still play out? Besides, importation means buying in dollars, which will definitely affects pricing. So getting our refineries working is the best solution for me.

Fact is, Tinubu has proven not be smart as his Agbado miscreant forecasted.

Any human being that Buhari can outsmart is docile and doom.

How can you jump on your day of inauguration and start shouting fuel subsidy is over when you don't have details of the issues on ground.

What the dullard Buhari couldn't achieve in 8 years. You just jump like someone already high on the white substance shouting fuel subsidy is gone, is gone and entered Buhari trap.

Now manage the damage, Babablue says he is sharing #8k palliative, like, is it for Agbado or groundnut?

Isn't it very clear that Tinubu is continuing from where Buhari stopped with the speed of light. Palliative that failed woefully under the dullardino 8 years fiasco. Tinubu has adopted it.

Exchange rate is currently #805 = $1

And the bits goes on ...

Honestly, it's painful seeing how evil and wicked some Nigerians can be to fellow Nigerians..

NNPC that changed to NNPCL started just like Saudi Aramco and likes who are doing excellently well in the business of Petroleum refining. I don't know why we can't just do things right in this country, a wealthy nation brought to her knees by a corrupt few who want to amass wealth they won't take with them when they die. Fake pastors and imams everywhere looking away while things rot, everyone is fighting for their own selfish interest.

Dangote dey where he dey.. we are still hoping to see products from his refinery by September cos July don almost end. We have Waltersmith Petroman and a few others (smaller scale refineries tho.), dunno why they are not that visible.

Corruption will take a long time to go, that is if we are ready to enforce a strong institution over strong political personalities and tribal sentiments. If the institution become strong, then gradually corrupt individuals will cave in, but that is more like a dream in the context of present realities. If the these corrupt entities can overwhelm Buhari, I don't think Tinubu stands a chance.
However, to soften the burden on the masses, the President should look more into getting our refineries working. Give in to modular refineries, by issuing more license to qualified business entities. The few operating are not enough. This will collapse the price as competition is ushered in.
If you use government power to import, you will still buy in dollars, and that will eventually affects pricing.
Every Nigerian has to see the fight against corruption as a patriotic call, else we are going no where. But first, we must kill the tribal and religion monster that keeps the nation divided.
