CAN should sit down like a chilled can of soda in the refrigerator.

They don't represent we Christians. They're just a bunch of charlatans who masquerade as followers of Christ.
Point of correction: who are the WE CHRISTIANS? Say YOU alone, we didn't send you to speak for us. Let CAN speak for us you nairaland rat.

Please tell this noble forum why APC didn't fix the refineries for the 8 years they were in power only to suddenly remove the subsidy before setting modalities in place to cushion the effects

Subsidy removal is nothing but more money available for the government to loot. Best they can achieve with it is to reduce the ievel of borrowing while the people continue in suffering. Mark my word.

CAN should stop churches from receiving Tithes and Offerings at the moment in consideration of the economic upheavals. Subsidies are killing our ability to work harder and must end.

Tinubu is updating Nigerian systems.
This is a country with outdated systems, hence jagaban is refurbishing and modernizing our systems to match with today's reality.

He has taken many laudable steps.
Are you ok at all?
Can you mention one step Tinubu has taken that has benefitted your life and improved your well being as a Nigerian. It's fools like this that always make me regret being born in this country.

If you are true christian and a follower of Christ, you will not call anyone Charlatan. That was how Buhari's supporters were insulting anyone that talk against him untill they themselves started stoning him. Please you can disagree with people without calling them names. God Bless you

How do you get to sleep at night?
You mean you still have to drag OBJ and Jonathan into the failures we are currently experiencing? If APC isnt capable of handling the heat is there any law that prevent them from resigning?

This is the policy that will make Nigeria become a failed state. Look around you, economy is nosediving.
They don't even know what to do with the excess revenue at the moment. Politicians lifestyles remain the same, their huge salaries and allowances keep increasing each year but they're busy taking away every little thing the masses are benefiting from the Govt.

The useless Christians that voted for Tinubu just because he is a Yoruba man thank God they are also feeling the heat.

Well, in response to CAN, here is why subsidy had to go, and why keeping it would have brought even more harsh issues on Nigeria

(DISCLAIMER:

I AM NOT A APC SUPPORTER
I DON'T SUPPORT PDP OR LP
I DON'T BACK TINUBU, NOR HAVE I VOTED FOR HIM
I HAVE SUPPORTED SUBSIDY REMOVAL SINCE 2012
I DID NOT WANT APC TO WIN IN 2023, AND AM ANGRY WITH TINUBU FOR NOT SUPPORTING SUBSIDY REMOVAL IN 2012, BECAUSE IF HE HAD WE MIGHT HAVE HAD ALL THE PROBLEMS WE HAD SORTED OUT LONG TIME AGO.).

With that out of the way, here we go.

Removing subsidies on petrol and allied products importation is no longer the issue now. It is the quiet removal of subsidies on education and health, plus the devaluation of the Naira all in the space of less than 100 days. Yet we await a tariff hike in electricity and the re-introduction of suspended taxes on future dates.

I thought the removal of subsidies on petrol is to free up funds for other essential subsidies to be retained. Now I understand it is to free up more funds for the political elites to buy bullet-proof cars and maintain their luxurious lifestyles, while they throw N8000 at the people as palliative.

There are no savings to be had from subsidy removal right now.

We are doing it because we are using loans right now to pay for the thing, while most of our revenue goes for debt service.

Nigeria has been badly run on free stuff and looting for so long, now the bill's come in, and it isn';t funny.

Argentina used to do free stuff, free housing, and so forth...until the debt got so bad, they were defaulting

Whoever was in charge, we have no money to spend on freebies. And yes, the government is wrong to spend money on salary increase for themselves, and vehicles for the assemblymen, and more money for themselves..they should be cutting costs..
